Meet Latke: Your Newest (and Cuddliest) Best Friend
Hi! My name is Latke, and if I had a motto, it would be: “Cuddles, cuddles, and more cuddles!”
I’m a handsome 3-year-old boy with a big heart, a mighty purr, and a serious love for being close to my people. I was rescued as a newborn kitten and my rescuer named me Latke because I looked like a tiny curled-up potato pancake.
I am the ultimate lap cat. I love being held like a baby, curling up in bed with my people, and making sweet little biscuits on shoes. I’m very social and people-oriented; I’m often happy to introduce myself to visitors and settle into their laps before they even know what happened! People say my purr is especially soothing—and I take that job very seriously.
When I’m not cuddling, I’m a playful athlete. I enjoy soccer with my little ball and love zooming beneath the dining-room table, turning chair legs into my own obstacle course. I’ll do best with a family that can give me plenty of playtime, affection, and companionship.
My Ideal Home
I’m looking for a loving adult home without young children, ideally with people who are happy to share their bed and their laps. I’m particularly sensitive to certain sound frequencies, including baby cries, which make me feel anxious and uncomfortable. My family loves me very much and is making the difficult decision to find me a calmer home where I can truly relax and be myself.
I previously lived with other cats and a dog, and I used to cuddle with my cat brother. I may do well with a very gentle, friendly, easygoing cat who is open to sharing cuddles—but I’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the affection as your one-and-only.
I Come With Everything I Need
To help me settle into my new home, I’ll bring along many of my favorite things, including:
- Litter-Robot 4
- Cat tree and window perch
- Hard-shell carrier and backpack carrier
- Automatic dry-food dispenser and water fountain
- Toys, including my soccer ball
- Double cat cave
If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will greet you with biscuits, purr you through hard days, and make every couch and bed feel a little cozier, I might be your perfect Latke.
