Hi! We’re Ash & Slate, and we’re looking for our f Hi! We’re Ash & Slate, and we’re looking for our forever home together! 🐾 We’re sweet, bonded sisters who are a year and a half old and who have been through a lot together, and now we’re hoping to find the family who will show us what forever really means. ❤️ Our previous owners sold their house and moved away, leaving us behind. We didn’t understand where they went, so we stayed near the only home we knew, probably wondering when they would come back for us. Thankfully, the wonderful people who bought the house realized that we must belong there. Neighbors confirmed that we had lived in the home, and when it became clear that no one was coming back for us, our new human friends knew we needed help. They had a dog and were worried we might become frightened and take off once they moved in, so they contacted Kitty Connection to make sure we were safe. And that’s how we got our second chance. 🐱🐱 I’m Ash, I’m gray with cute white paws and a white bib. I’m a sweet girl too, but I’m still recovering from everything we’ve been through. I absolutely love being petted once I feel safe, but when things change or seem scary, my first instinct is to find a cozy hiding place. I just need someone patient who will give me the time I need to realize I’m finally home. And I’m Slate, the pretty dilute tortie. I’m the more outgoing sister and tend to settle into new places a little faster. I love being held, getting pets, and soaking up attention from my humans. We’ve even spent time playing with a 12-year-old boy who came to visit, and we both did great with him! Most of all, we love each other and hope we can stay together. After losing the home and people we once knew, having each other has been our constant. Meet Chester: the handsome boy with a big heart—an Meet Chester: the handsome boy with a big heart—and big personality 🖤 Chester recently proved he can thrive in a lively home full of teenage boys—and he was very happy soaking up the attention! This affectionate, vocal young guy loves rubbing against his person’s legs, long head and neck scratches, bird-watching, toy time, and a well-earned nap afterward. He may enjoy a feline friend, too, with thoughtful introductions and the right match. Chester is FIV-positive, but that does not stop him from living a long, joyful, love-filled life. With regular veterinary care and an indoor lifestyle, he has so much companionship ahead of him to give. Chester is looking for a cat-experienced adopter who understands feline body language and will respect his boundaries. He can become reactive when his cues are missed, so he needs someone patient, confident, and ready to build trust with him at his pace. In return, Chester will reward the right person with affection, conversation, charm, and endless leg rubs. Like many former outdoor cats, Chester is especially food-motivated and will do best with a calm, consistent feeding routine. He does well with free-choice dry food, and his adopter will have the support of the rescue and veterinarian to help him feel secure and be his healthiest.
