Stix

Meet Stix: Your Big, Goofy, Devoted Sidekick

Stix is a handsome young gentleman with a big body, an even bigger personality, and a truly enormous capacity for love. At approximately two years old and 13 pounds, he is past the tiny-kitten stage—but he has all the joyful energy, curiosity, and playfulness of one. He is neutered, has normal bloodwork, immaculate litter-box habits, and is ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves.

Stix’s story began sadly: he was abandoned outside a veterinary emergency hospital. After weeks of unsuccessful attempts to reach his owner, a staff member brought him home to foster—and once he had time to decompress, he blossomed. It did not take long to discover that beneath his initially cautious exterior was an affectionate, hilarious, people-loving cat who wants to be part of absolutely everything.

Once Stix knows you, he is your shadow. He will greet you with head-butts, wind around your ankles, follow you from room to room, supervise dinner preparation, investigate the bathroom and shower, curl up in your lap, and sleep in bed—sometimes right on top of you. He is not a cat who wants to simply admire you from across the room; Stix wants to be your best friend, household assistant, and constant companion.

And then there is playtime—Stix’s greatest passion. This boy loves to zoom, pounce, chase, ambush, and turn ordinary moments into a game. He is wonderfully food-motivated and will come running from a deep sleep at the sound of a treat bag, which should make training, redirection, and enrichment especially rewarding. With interactive wand toys, puzzle feeders, kicker toys, and daily play sessions, Stix will be an endlessly entertaining companion.

Stix is looking for an adopter who appreciates an interactive cat and has time to engage with him. A work-from-home household, an active individual or family, or a home with respectful children who enjoy playing with cats could be a wonderful fit. He may also enjoy having a playful feline companion, though he has not been formally tested with other cats or dogs and any introductions should be slow, thoughtful, and carefully managed.

Stix does have a sensitive, startle-prone side that his future family should understand. Sudden noises, unexpected touch, or unfamiliar situations can make him dart for cover, and he is impressively talented at finding hiding places that do not seem possible. In a new home, he will need patience, a quiet settling-in period, and careful attention to doors, windows, and exits. Once he feels secure and trusts his people, though, he comes back out to be the affectionate, engaged, lovable goofball he truly is.

He also has enthusiastic kitten-style play habits, including gentle little play nibbles—especially if there are tempting toes under blankets. They are not aggressive or painful, but he will do best with people who can redirect that energy into appropriate toys and play.

One veterinarian briefly noted the possibility of a very soft heart murmur; however, another veterinarian felt it was likely related to anxiety or excitement during the exam, much like “white coat” high blood pressure in people. His bloodwork was completely normal, and there are no current health concerns, but his adopter should simply mention it at future routine veterinary visits.

Stix has already been let down once. Now, he deserves someone who will see what his foster sees: a big-hearted, hilarious, affectionate young cat who is ready to devote himself completely to his people. For the right home, Stix will not just be a pet—he will be a loyal, playful, loving little shadow for years to come.

Unless otherwise noted in the above description, Kitty Connection cats have been:

– spayed or neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested negative for FIV and FeLV
– examined by a vet

Adopters will receive their medical records.
