Bruno & Troy (Courtesy Post)

All-white Bruno and tuxedo Troy are a pair of six-year-old bonded brothers who lost their home due to an eviction. Naturally, they were traumatized by this turn of events– after all, cats don’t know anything about rent or evictions, nor would it have been any easier on them if they had– but they have learned that their foster mom is being nice to them and helping them on the road to emotional recovery. Like most cats, they would be happiest in an interactive household where they get lots of attention and play. We have not observed them with kids or dogs, but we think they would probably do well with pretty much anyone who knows how to treat a cat respectfully. Because they are a bonded pair, we will not consider adopting them separately– they even groom each other. We think Bruno might be partly deaf, possibly completely deaf, but this does not affect his day-to-day life. Bruno and Troy strike a comfortable balance between independence and attachment. They are easy cats who would make a wonderful match for a first-time adopter.

They have been neutered, are current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Their adopter will receive their medical records. They’re being fostered in Wellesley. Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In their case, the adoption fee has been substantially reduced to $240 for the pair to facilitate a quick adoption because their university-student foster is leaving the area very soon and we want to avoid them having to go through the stress of a needless transition– a bargain for a pair of new best friends who will be devoted companions for life. Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters. Including your phone number increases the likelihood of a faster response.
