Bowen (Courtesy Post)

Bowen was adopted several years ago by Colin Cleary and his wife. Bowen is a 52 pound ex-bait dog from a TN rescue. Unfortunately the rescue was not transparent in telling Colin about Bowen’s issues. He had severe leg injuries when found on the side of the road. Once those were healed he was sent north. About four months into his adoption, he nipped at a visitor to the home but skin was not broken. When the rescue was called, Colin and his wife were told that if Bowen was returned he would be immediately euthanized.

Bowen has been working with a trainer. He has made great progress but cannot be picked up. He goes to a dog park often and has some leash aggression toward other dogs which is being addressed. He does not like cats. Bowen has been fine when taken to the vet’s.

Bowen is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. He spends his days alone in the house.  He has never soiled the house or chewed anything.  He is generally a very good dog. Colin and his wife are expecting a baby in June. They feel that a small child could trigger Bowen’s insecurities so hope to find a quiet place for him to continue his training since he is still a young dog.
