Meet Chester: the handsome boy with a big heart—an Meet Chester: the handsome boy with a big heart—and big personality 🖤 Chester recently proved he can thrive in a lively home full of teenage boys—and he was very happy soaking up the attention! This affectionate, vocal young guy loves rubbing against his person’s legs, long head and neck scratches, bird-watching, toy time, and a well-earned nap afterward. He may enjoy a feline friend, too, with thoughtful introductions and the right match. Chester is FIV-positive, but that does not stop him from living a long, joyful, love-filled life. With regular veterinary care and an indoor lifestyle, he has so much companionship ahead of him to give. Chester is looking for a cat-experienced adopter who understands feline body language and will respect his boundaries. He can become reactive when his cues are missed, so he needs someone patient, confident, and ready to build trust with him at his pace. In return, Chester will reward the right person with affection, conversation, charm, and endless leg rubs. Like many former outdoor cats, Chester is especially food-motivated and will do best with a calm, consistent feeding routine. He does well with free-choice dry food, and his adopter will have the support of the rescue and veterinarian to help him feel secure and be his healthiest. I’m a 3-year-old beauty with a velvety blue-gray coat that shimmers silver in the light. I’m very shy around people, and I’ll be honest: I’m not a lap cat and I may never be one. Trust with humans comes slowly for me, on my terms, over months or even years. I’ll do best with a patient adopter who finds joy in small victories, like a calm blink from across the room, and who can offer quiet routines, a gentle presence, and zero pressure. With other cats, I’m a completely different girl. I’m warm, social, and incredibly friendly, and my feline friends are my comfort and confidence. I absolutely adore my foster parents’ other cats, and I play with them every chance I get, chirping and yipping with excitement. For this reason, I must be adopted into a home with at least one other friendly, cat-sociable resident. I won’t do well as an only cat.
