Alice (Courtesy Post)

Alice is a friendly brown-tabby-and-white girl, about 10-11 years old, who lost her home when the person who meant the world to her moved and couldn’t be bothered to take her along. It’s not as if this person took good care of Alice, anyway, having taken Alice to the vet only once in her life. (Alice was seen by our vet after being surrendered and given a clean bill of health.)  As we would expect, Alice was traumatized at the loss of the only home she had ever known.  Thanks to the patience and kindness of her foster mom, Alice slowly but surely adjusted and has revealed herself to be quite a sweet girl. She’s not a big fan of the other cats in her foster home, but she’s not aggressive toward them either. We have not observed her with kids, but we have reason to believe that she would do fine with kids who know how to be respectful to cats. Alice would do best in an interactive home where she isn’t left alone for long hours, and where she’ll get some playtime to help her lose a little bit of weight as she’s a tad plump. Alice is a total sweetheart, ready to be someone’s new best friend.

She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, has been treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Her adopter will receive her medical records. She’s being fostered in Winthrop.  Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits.  There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. We know that the world does not beat a path to cats like Alice, so her adoption fee has been reduced to a mere $55– a bargain for a new best friend who will love you for the rest of her life. Cats can live past 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting.  Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps rescuers match cats with the right adopters.
