Berchi (Courtesy Post)

Meet Berchi, a petite two-year-old tuxedo girl who has come a long way from her tough start on the streets. Once a frightened, hungry stray, she has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate presence in her foster home with a calm, easygoing nature– the embodiment of “chill cat.” Berchi is the perfect mix of sweetness and serenity—she loves attention but is also content to simply relax nearby, making her an ideal match for someone who appreciates a peaceful, loving presence.  Berchi is ready to leave her hard days behind and become a cherished member of a forever home. She’s soft, loving, and has a quiet charm that makes her the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate friend. We have not observed her with dogs, children or other cats.  We think she would do well with a dog or kids who know how to be respectful to cats.  We can give you pointers about that.  She would do best in a home with someone who will give her lots of attention, and where she will not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time.  She is an easy cat who seems suitable for a first-time adopter.

She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and treated for worms and fleas. Her adopter will receive her full medical records. She’s being fostered in Somerville.  Adoptions are facilitated by video meet-and-greets, as well as in-person visits.  There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee, which helps us continue rescuing cats in need. In her case, that adoption fee has been greatly reduced to a mere $45– a bargain for a devoted companion who will love you for the rest of her life.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so please consider whether you can commit to providing a safe, loving home for life before adopting. Please email Safercats11@gmail.com with your phone number and a little about yourself and the home you would provide. Doing so helps us match cats with the right adopters.
