Rascal is a friendly black-and-white boy, about one-two years old, who was rescued as a frightened, hungry stray after he was abandoned by the person who meant the world to him. Although he was shy at first, he certainly isn’t any more. If there were a competition for World’s Friendliest cat, Rascal would surely be a contender. He is an affectionate, social boy with a personality that will fill the room.
Rascal is being fostered in a home that has another cat who wants nothing to do with him, but that hasn’t stopped this friendly boy from trying to make friends with her. Thus, his fosters think he would do well with another feline buddy in his new home. He loves to interact with people, so he should be adopted into a home where he will get lots of play time and not be unaccompanied for long periods of time. We have not observed him with kids or dogs. We think he would do well with kids who know how to treat cats respectively. Rascal is an easy cat who would probably be an excellent choice for a first-time adopter.

Rascal has been:
– neutered
– given rabies and distemper vaccinations
– tested negative for FeLV and FIV
– treated for worms and fleas
– examined and determined to be healthy by a vet
His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. He’s being fostered in Somerville.
Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to him and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to RoyCBarrows@gmail.com. Please include your phone number for a faster response and say a little about yourself and the home you would provide for him as we try to match people with the right cats.
