Merlot and Yam are a bonded pair of boys, about 5-6 years old, who need a home. These two were surrendered from a hoarding situation in which they received very little human interaction. As a result, it takes them a long time for their trust to be earned, From their video, you can see they’ve made great progress, but their adopter will need to be patiently proactive to help them acclimate to their new home. Their foster mom says they’re the most closely bonded pair she’s seen in her years as a foster, so they must be adopted together. They like to hang out with their foster mom, play with string toys, and be pet on their terms. Merlot is grey and white, Yam is black and white. We recommend a quiet home with an adopter who is experienced with cats for these boys.
They have been:
– neutered
– given rabies and distemper vaccinations
– tested negative for FeLV and FIV
– treated for worms and fleas
– examined and determined to be healthy by a vet
Their adopter will receive their medical records. Because they are a bonded pair, they must be adopted together. There is a simple adoption process and a greatly discounted adoption fee to facilitate getting them adopted together. The total adoption fee for the two of them is only $45. They’re being fostered in Allston.
Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time.
