Cali (formerly Lilly) My fiance and I adopted Lilly, who we renamed Cali, two years ago when she was 8 weeks old. We live in a tiny apartment in Boston and are busy people so we were worried that the kitten wouldn't have enough space, but we new she would have enough love. She was timid at first but eventually came out of her shell and is now a playful, healthy, loving kitty who just loves to be around us and literally follows my fiance up and down the hallway. He never gets to sit down without her jumping on his lap within seconds and snuggling with him. She brings so much joy to our lives and loves taking car trips with us to visit her "grandparents" in Maine. She is a smart and beautiful cat- we have filled up 3 memory cards with pictures of her and now are looking to adopt another little kitty so she can have someone her size to play with and keep her company when we are busy. Thank you Kitty Connection for our very first baby!!! Jennifer
Skootchie Skootchie (formerly Dicey) has been doing wonderfully. We adopted her last year (Dec. 07) at PetSmart, via Kitty Connection. Skootchie is a CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) kitty -- basically she's a "wobbly" cat, she can't jump up on things or walk a straight line, her coordination/motor skills and vision are off kilter. When we first brought Skootchie home (and for months afterwards), she was unsure of us (we think she might have been neglected) and swatted at us quite a bit, but we've been working with her, gaining her trust and the scratches are further and fewer between. She loves to snuggle and follows us around the house like a shadow (albeit a noisy one, as she falls a bit), and she loves sleeping in bed with us every night -- she usually claws her way up the side and uses the ottoman and "crash" pillows we've put next to the bed to get down. She cannot get enough play, her favorite toys are a mouse tied to a string and three straws taped together (so much for those expensive cat toys! ;-) We've also built her a ramp to get up to the window seat so she can watch and chatter at all her bird friends. She absolutely loves it. It took a few weeks and a lot of prodding for her to gather up enough nerve to attempt the ramp but now she flies up and down the it. We would like to thank Kitty Connection for rescuing Skootchie, as this was her second time being surrendered to the MSPCA. She's such a special kitty, we love her so much and can't imagine our family without her! Missy and Bryant
Gracie To all of you considering adoption...meet Gracie and her baby "Sophie". I set out for "a kitten," and then decided on two. When I went to meet this "tortie" and her five kittens, the nurse in me said "Why am I taking two babies, when this mom will be left behind and all alone." SO I took mom and ONE baby. They are the LOVES of my life. SO I say...go ahead and take a chance on an older cat. It will be forever grateful, and give you love and affection like no other! And remember 2 is better than 1 :) Thank you, Jenn
Sydney
We adopted Sydney (originally named 'Boog') during a snowstorm in December of 2007. It took my fiancé Jess about eight hours to make the round trip through the snow and traffic between our home in Norwood to/from your place in Medford. Jess did not arrive at the Kitty Connection until well into the evening; fortunately Marie was kind enough to stay late that night so that we could complete the adoption. Sydney weighed just 2.5 pounds when Jess brought her home. Over time Sydney has bulked up, and is now even a little bit chubby! She has truly evolved into the queen of the household. Thank you for bringing her into our lives. She is a wonderful blessing to us every day. :-) Jess and Kris
Oreo, Fifi & Jerry I lost my beloved 19-year old cat Lucky in February, 2008. I was heartbroken and called Kitty Connection to see if I could save a cat and give it a wonderful home! I met Oreo (formerly Spot) and instantly fell in love. He settled right into my home with my dog Wendell and my other 3 cats, Gizmo, Tigger and Midnight. In March, 2008, I adopted FiFi so Oreo could have a companion around the same age and they immediately became "best buds.: FiFi is so dainty and a love and I definitely needed another female in my home with all 5 males running around :) In September 2008, Jerry came into my life as a very weak, 1-pound malnourished kitten who was at death's door. With patience and endurance, I nursed him back to health with FiFi as his "surrogate" mother! She immediately assumed the role of mother and took Jerry under her wing and protected him, cleaned him and gave him the love and attention as if he were her own. Sadly, Gizmo, my other beloved 20-year old passed away in October, 2008. Words cannot express my heartfelt gratitude to Kitty Connection for giving me the chance to give Oreo, FiFi and Jerry their forever home. Karen
Grace & Winnie We adopted our first little black cat Grace (formerly Eunice) on Halloween! She starting running and playing the moment she moved in, and hasn't stopped! Because she had so much energy, we adopted another kitten to keep her company. Winnie (formerly Wendy) joined our family in mid-December. Winnie is very shy with people, but LOVES her new sister. However, it wasn't love at first sight. Grace (all 3 pounds of her) growled at Winnie once or twice initially, but now they are inseparable. Grace and Winnie have the run of the house and are maniacs! A total of 9 pounds between the two of them, they chase each other back and forth on the second floor all night long. It sounds like a herd of buffalo at times, but it makes us smile. I don't remember ever having that much energy or enthusiasm!! Grace and Winnie join our two other cats - MK (a stray my husband found by his office building last June), and Wilson (adopted 11 years ago), and Max, a dog (adopted 8 years ago). Grace and Winnie are great additions to the family. We love them to bits, and it's been so much fun watching them play, and explore new things. Jodie
Chicago We adopted Chicago from you back in July, and we just wanted to let you know that he is doing great! He still loves to have his belly rubbed. We absolutely love him, Thank you! Keri & Jay
Thomas O'Malley & Betty This success story is long overdue. I brought home Thomas O'Malley and Betty in June. They were strangers at Kitty Connection but quickly became good friends. Thomas O'Malley is a sweet, gentle, hungry older guy (12 years or so). He was immediately comfortable in my home, slept on my bed the first night. It didn't take long to find out why Thomas was originally named Fatty Cat. Thomas loves to eat!! I don't know if the pictures really show his size because Betty has really filled out as well. I do feel that he adopted me. Even though he is a senior cat, I just couldn't leave Kitty Connection without him and he's great. He is sleeping on my desk right now as I write to you. Two-year old Betty took a bit longer to completely relax but now she greets all guests and wants to sit on their lap. She's very curious and into absolutely everything. She keeps Thomas moving, they often wrestle and chase each other - good exercise! Her name really suits her so I didn't change it - sometimes she's quite a lady and other times a bit of a Bossy Betty. Just try to give Thomas a bit of attention and she comes running. Thomas just sits back and waits his turn. Thomas, Betty and I are very happy together. They are great companions for me and my nieces adore them. The cats have taken over my kids' chairs and working on the computer can get very crowded! Many thanks for all that Kitty Connection does for cats in need of a home! Maureen
Sophie Here is a picture of Sophie (previously Peach) with Sadie. She's SUCH a lover!!! Thanks again for saving her!! She deserved it! Charlene
Edgar Attached is a picture of Edgar and Buddy. They love sleeping on the couch!!! We are having lots of fun with Edgar, he is so nutty and makes us laugh a lot. We are very grateful to have him in our lives. If I didn't have another cat I would have taken Eva also, I hope she is in a happy home. Lori
Simon Simon and I are doing great! I am so glad I picked up the phone the night you called looking for a foster home for your newest rescue. I was still grieving the loss of Jasmine and wasn't sure I was ready for a new permanent cat. But Simon charmed me in a matter of weeks! He is very affectionate, playful, and loves to have his belly rubbed. Plus, he fetches! Thank you! Jen in Arlington
Cleo Cleo is doing just great; she even slept with us. She is as sweet a cat as you said. She's still a little skittish, if we lean over from a standing position to try to pat her. So, we just sit down and then she comes over to us. She's getting so much love and affection from us. She has the run of five rooms, including stairs (which I think is good for exercise). When she's not sleeping, she follows me, from room to room. Cleo and my daughter's cat have eyeballed each another, with no hissing. So, gradually, we're going to see if they could be buddies. Thank you, again, for our precious little cat. Mari Anne
Eva I adopted "Peachy" recently. I just wanted to let you know that she is adjusting very well here and she is truly becoming the Queen of the house! She loves to be on the bed or the couch so she can see us better. She is very playful but still a bit shy so she darts under the furniture a lot. I think it's more a part of her play now than her being scared. We have tentatively renamed her Eva (after the female character in the movie WALL E) and we all agree that she was the right choice for our family. I just wanted to let you know that she is doing great and thank you again for your help and letting us meet her :) Thanks, Alison (and Eva & her Teddy)
Cheza Hi there! I just wanted to thank everyone and let people know how great Cheza (formally Cha Cha) is. My husband and I absolutely adore her, she is the sweetest, prettiest girl. A bit before we got her, we lost our cat, and Cheza has helped us, and cheered us up from our deep loss. Thanks again!
Gracie Here is a picture of Gracie. She is such a great kitten. We love her so much. She became a member of the family so fast and everyone loves her so much. Just thought you would like to know how she is. Love, Kellie and Paul
Sadie (on the right) Sadie is starting to enjoy her new home. She's still quite a nervous Nelly and runs away anytime I walk toward her, but once I sit down, she is a lover. She likes to bury her head in my armpit (lol) or lay her chin on my arm or shoulder. So I think she loves me. Charlene
Lucy I just thought I'd give you an update on my adoption of the tortie cat with FIV named Lucy. When I first brought her home she was shy and withdrawn and hid in the bathroom for about a week. I considered this normal, knowing how cats can be about change, and she did seem a tad depressed, certainly because of her situation. I went away for a small vacation for two days and when I returned she was running around the house, playful and happy as if she's always lived here. She showered me with love and attention and enjoyed playing with her new sisters. She's a constant source of joy, certainly one of the most sweetest-tempered cats I have ever known. She fits in here perfectly and has the energy of a kitten. I am so happy I could give her the home and love she most certainly deserves. Thank you so much for saving her and bringing her into my life. Thank you for all you do for cats.Adrian
Prospect Hi, we adopted Prospect at the end of August and I just wanted to let you know that he is doing great! It took a couple weeks for him to adjust to his new home, but now he loves it. He is very friendly, loves to be petted and purrs constantly. He is very well behaved and he likes to talk to us a lot. We love having him around and we are very happy you gave us the opportunity to adopt him. Thanks so much! Megan and Todd
Kaylee I've been meaning to tell a success story for sometime now, but I wanted to find a picture of how much our little Kaylee (who is sleeping in my arms) has brought to the house. It seems like everyone is happier with her arrival. She's such an amazing part of the family and it wouldn't have happened without her wonderful foster-mom who was willing to put in that extra effort to quell my fears that my older cats wouldn't accept her. Her foster-mom was also patient with my questions as we both worked to try to make sure that this would be a good home for her. Sweet Kaylee made friends with both my other cats more quickly than I'd imagined and has completely stolen my heart. She even sometimes reminds the older cats that they still have some kitten in them. I feel so lucky to have found her and it just wouldn't have happened with out your help. Thank you. With much gratitude, Calista
Maui (formerly Tyler) Here's a picture of Tyler in his new home, and with his new "brother" Panchito. They play a LOT, which is great for both. We've renamed Tyler, his new name is Maui. Thanks! Ernst
