Bailey Dear Kitty Connection, I wanted to thank you for sending me home with my new mommy!I have adapted VERY well!Mommy says I am the king of the castle...I like it when she says this.Mommy changed my name from Merrack to Bailey and I like it a lot better-I even run to mommy when she calls me!I spend my days lounging on my 'Bailey blanket' with my favorite toy-a stuffed guinea pig named Jasper.Jasper and I have a love/hate relationship.Sometimes I rough him up and other times mommy finds me cuddled up in the pillows of her bed with my cute little double paws wrapped around Jasper's head.I have also found great joy in knocking over mommy's Christmas tree to see how many ornaments I can break-so much fun!I don't think mommy likes it but after all...I am a kitten, what does she expect!I also have found out how to help myself to my toy bin and pull out all my toys and hide them around the apartment so mommy has to find them.I have her trained very well ;o)Oh and don't worry-I am eating very well too!Mommy mixes my wet food with lysine to keep me healthy and she gives me dry food for good dental hygiene-I'm such a handsome devil!Every time mommy goes in the kitchen I go with her-just in case something drops I can pick it up for her!I am such a big help! After all this excitement I cuddle up really close to mommy and purr super loud so she knows I am there and we fall asleep together. So don't worry about me I absolutely LOVE my new home!Mommy and I want to wish you all at the Kitty Connection a safe and happy holiday and we are hoping that all the other kitties are lucky enough to find good homes too!Mommy attached some pictures of me so check them out!Buhbye!Love Always,Xo Bailey Xo a.k.a. 'SantaPaws'
Al and Sha Hi, Kelly, Al (Alcatraz) and Sha (Yahoo) are doing just wonderful in their new home. They both run and play so much. Al is the softest kitty I have ever had the pleasure of petting. And Sha keeps me laughing so much. She loves to roll on the floor and be petted and loved. Here they are to say Happy Christmas. Thank you so much for my new loves.Deb and John
Brewski Hi, Crystal and Trish, I just wanted to check in and give you an update about Brew- he is doing great in his new home!Tonight is his second obedience class at the MSPCA and he is doing great with clicker rewards training. We are still working with pulling and jumping but hey that doesn't come overnight.Yesterday he had a wellness visit and he is a healthy pup, he is up to 48lbs.Whit and I have been taking him on lots of walks and enjoying different parks and reservations we haven't been to in awhile. He is really really, really active but knows how to sleep in.He still likes the crate during our work hours and hasn't had any daytime accidents. Overall I am surprised how well he has acclimated to our apartment- he seems really happy! Our cat Muri still doesn't understand that they are best friends yet, but Brew is slowly winning him over.Thank you for making this adoption such a positive experience for Whit and I.We are so thankful to have Brew.Let me know if either of you have questions or need me to write any glowing reviews.Hope you enjoy the picture.(I know we have gone off the deep end!)Best and Happy Holidays.Kristin
Fitch Hello!Fitch adjusted the moment she walked in the door! She took a look around and then proceeded to purr her heart out. She has her own bed at night in our room! Thanks again for helping her find her way to us. Cheers, Nathaniel
Nightshade Hi guys, we adopted a black kitten named Lesley, from the Kitty Connection about two months ago.We had brought our older cat Pretzel to the event with us so he could pick out his new buddy.Lesley was his favorite! You could tell that they liked each other right away.We brought her home that night! We gave her a new name, Nightshade, to go with her glossy black coat. Her favorite things are her toy squirrel, jumping on her big brother's head, and purring in a lap.Nightshade and Pretzel are now the best of friends.I wouldn't like someone jumping on my head, but he is very patient with her.Apparently, he takes his big brother duties very seriously! They love sleeping together, trading cat food, and chasing each other around the apartment.Everyone at the Kitty Connection was extremely helpful and friendly. They let us get to know the different cats one-on-one and gave us plenty of time to make our decision. We couldn't have done it without you!Best wishes, Honey
Sandy We adopted Sandy, a nine week old calico, from a Kitty Connection event at the Petsmart in Everett. She crawled into our arms and purred like crazy and we knew she was going to make a great addition to our family. Sandy loves her new home and her new “brother” Ollie (our somewhat skittish second kitty who Sandy has helped to come out of his shell). They are so cute together and are often found chasing each other around the house and then snuggling close together for a mid-afternoon siesta. Sandy is very good cat and she so adorable and full of life. Thank you for such an amazing kitten!Tom, Maureen and Ollie
Cruella We adopted 11 week-old "Doc" during the Medford TV adopt-a-thon in October, renamed her "Cruella" - though we usually call her "Rue" - and, over the course of a week, introduced her to our other cats 12 year old "Peep", 5 year old "Molly" and 4 year old "Munkie." As the attached photos - taken just two weeks after her arrival - show, Rue became part of the family very quickly. Her adopted siblings consistently demonstrate remarkable patience and gentleness in handling her boundless kitten energy - as she pounces on them, runs away with toys and is always the first one to the food bowl. Thank you to everyone at Kitty Connection for this wonderful addition to our family! Linda and David
Sophie We adopted Izzy (now Sophie), just two weeks ago on Nov. 19. She is such a cutey. Getting to know her has been interesting and fun for the family, and we hope it’s been fun for Sophie as well. We discovered what her favorite toys are, her favorite foods, and observing her different moods. We’re sure there is more to come. Although she was very shy when she first arrived, she is now surprisingly very sociable with family and friends. We are so glad we stopped by on adoption night. Keep up the great work!! Dan, Salvina and Ashley
Tabitha Hi Debra, I just wanted to let you know Fuzzy (we renamed her Tabitha) is doing fantastic! She is so lovable and she is the best thing that came into our lives :) She plays with her toys all the time loves to play!! Also loves to eat!!! She reminds me so much of our first baby Ginger:) and she loves to be held all the time just like a baby, it's incredible :) She sleeps either on my chest or Bruce's every night she is soooo cute. I just want to thank you and Marie for letting us adopt our little angel :)Cindy and Bruce
Mimi Hi Tracy and Stacey, Taria now has a Chinese name Mimi, who we adopted yesterday at Woburn. She has already found our home her home and has gotten plenty of TLC.She is such a wonderful kitten and loves being petted. We all love her very much.Thank you so much for introducing her to us. Suyue and Betsy
Nicholas and Jake Dear Kitty Connection, just wanted to give you an update on our kittens, Nicholas (Omar) and Jake (Bodie), who we adopted on August 22, 2009. They are wonderful kittens, growing and healthy. They seem happy in their new home, are connected to Ben and I, and love one another. They are very affectionate and active cats. We are really glad we adopted both of them together because we think it is so much better for their development. Happy Thanksgiving, Erin and Ben
Moonshadow and Aria
Moonshadow (aka "Jake") came from Medford as a reserved, but loving and shy cat.His companion, Aria (aka "Basil") came from a shelter in New Hampshire after her family lost its home. They are our Thanksgiving gifts this year. They are spoiled, very curious, very friendly, and will no doubt demand their share of the Thanksgiving turkey from everyone at dinner! Carol
Charley
Hi there, Trish, just wanted to give you an update on Soupie/Charley. We decided to change her name to Charley and she is doing very well with recognizing her new name. She is currently in beginner doggie classes. My partner Christina and I absolutely love her. She loves her rope bone and has recently discovered chicken basted raw hide bones. She has mastered sit, lay down and paw commands, but she is still working on spin. Charley's foster parents did a great job with her and she is truly a joy to have as part of our family. The cats are warming up to her and they will be the best of friends soon enough. Charley loves hot dogs, cheese and carrots as treats when she's learning tricks. But her absolutely favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch between Christina and I. She loves the beach and loves to hike. We truly found our dog. Best, Erica & Christina
Ash and Croft
The friendly folks at Kitty Connection were very responsive in matching us with our new kitties, Ash and Croft (Ash is the light gray tiger). The foster parents took really good care of these little guys and everyone worked in concert to get us acquainted and up to speed with our furry new family members. We worked with other pet adoption agencies, but I have to say, they took weeks just to get back to us. The folks at Kitty Connection were responsive from day one and had us with our new family within a week. And we weren't the only connections they were making. It's amazing to see how much they do for so many animals and people. They are spreading a lot of love, and these days, there are a lot of animals and folks that need it. Thanks Kitty Connection!
Joan from Arlington
Sheba Hi Marie, the little one is doing great! She is the boss around here. Thanks again, we'll be in touch. Mike and Morgan
Micky and Bailey
Bailey and Micky and Larry Earlier this year, after sadly losing three of my dear cats (B.B. Kitty, Curly, and Moe) to cancer within the last few years, it was hard to imagine letting a new cat companion into my life. My only remaining cat, Larry, had lost his friend and siblings and I didn’t want him to feel lonely or sad, so I called Kitty Connection. Marie was great and suggested a few cats for various reasons. I had no intention of adopting a kitten, I wanted an older cat, but Marie suggested Bailey, who was an older kitten, and the minute I saw him I knew he would be perfect. I was grieving for the cat I had just lost, so I was cautious but somehow I just knew. After an initial adjustment period, little Bailey fit in perfectly with 15 year old Larry, and they quickly became friends! Bailey needed a secure home and Larry needed a friend, it’s like they both knew exactly what to do. I waited a few months, then decided to adopt one more cat. This time I looked on the Kitty Connection website and saw a photo of Mik looking very sad. Something about his sad expression spoke to me and I wanted to know his story. I met him at his foster mom’s house, and once more I just knew! Mik is now Micky and he turned out to be quite a handful! He had been adopted previously but it didn’t work out, then he was in several foster homes. I wanted to give him the chance and the secure home he deserved. He was pretty wild at first, but I was determined to make it work. It took a few months to integrate him into the group, and at first I had to separate him from the others while I was in work, but my patience paid off. Micky is now the mushiest, sweetest cat, and he is truly happy to finally be in his permanent home with me and his kitty friends. He and Bailey have crazy playtime daily, while Larry watches them and stays out of the way!Bailey and Micky have given Larry the companionship that he needed, and the 3 of them nap together every day, as you can see in the photos: Bailey (brown), Micky (orange), and Larry (black). I am happy that my grief has been replaced by the knowledge that I could provide these 2 beautiful cats with a happy, safe home. I thank Kitty Connection for helping to bring these wonderful cats to me. Audrey
Bailey and Larry
Brooks
I adopted Brooks in June of 2007. I was fostering her and decided that she was going to become part of my family.Brooks was found under a porch and brought to a kill shelter when she was only a few weeks old. She spent almost a year there before Kitty Connection saved her. She was extremely skittish and would hide from me most of the day. After about 6 months and a lot of patience, she was running around chasing my other cats and acting like she has been with us forever. She is the sweetest most loveable girl, and I would be lost without her. Adopting her was the best decision I ever made!Thank you Kitty Connection for saving her! Jenn
Cape and Furball Hi, Marie, just wanted to let you know that one week in, the boys seem really happy here and we love them! This was a great picture Nat got of them sleeping earlier this week. All the best, Michaelann
Cinnamon and Maxwell
As soon as I opened the carrier, Paul, now called Maxwell, took off for a quick house tour. He returned a couple minutes later, and sprawled at my feet, purring. He was home. The household is still adjusting to him, though, as it’s been some years since our previous senior cats were interested in the living room mantle, the top of the TV cabinet, and other high level surfaces. Cinnamon considered the litter box, then vanished behind the adjacent storage cabinet, and didn’t come out until late the next evening. She must have explored at some point, as she’s been under the bed in the spare room for most of the past 3 weeks. We got brief glimpses of her, enough to convince my husband that there really was a second cat in the house. After about 5 days, Maxwell started trying to coax her out. Although she hissed at him, she did start sitting in the hallway occasionally. It took awhile to get a picture of her, as what we’ve mostly seen is a bit of fluff that might be a dustbunny behind the storage boxes. Cinnamon still vanishes into ‘her’ room at any sudden sound or movement, but we’ve been able to pet her and pick her up some. Thanks for introducing us to these cats, and caring for them.
Peaches Hello, we just wanted to send you an update on Peaches. She seems to love it here at the Maiocco house and has adjusted very well. She has been exploring her new home and napping in her basket. She is very lovable and enjoys playing with others. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to adopt this lovable cat into our home. Best, The Maiocco's
Marshmallow Dear Kitty Connection, we adopted "Precious" when she was 8 weeks old (we re-named her to Marshmallow - she is the grey/white one in the picture). It has been 3 months now and she has settled so well into her new home. She gets along with us as well as her older "brother - Turkey"! We also call her "squeaker lady" because we have yet hear her meow once, all she does is just "squeak" when she needs something LOL. She received all her distemper shots and she had her first rabies shot last month. She is perfectly healthy and adorable. Thank you so much for giving us a chance to have such a precious cat. Jim, Carrie, Turkey, & Marshmallow
Rudy Thank you Kitty Connection, and especially Trish, for bringing Rudy into my life! Wendell the Westie has been my only dog for the past 7 years. I always contemplated bringing another dog into my home but was hesitant because Wendell is very attached to me and I felt that another dog would bring Wendell added stress. That fateful Friday night when I met Rudy, and learned about his unstable life over the past 6 years, I decided to introduce Rudy to Wendell. To my absolute amazement, Wendell accepted him instantly!! I decided to officially adopt Rudy that Sunday, September 26! Although they're not best friends, YET, they do share the same bed and take their walks together every day. Kitty Connection is amazing for the work that they do to find both cats and dogs their forever homes. THANK YOU! Karen
Angie We adopted Angelica (we call her Angie) a little over a month ago. We went into Kitty Connection looking to adopt a kitten and ended up falling in love with the mama who was taking care of all of the stray kittens. She was a little timid when we first got her home and had mastitis, but now she is fully recovered and has really warmed up to us. She is my little shadow now. She comes with me everywhere, sitting on my desk when I work, or sometimes on my laptop. Her absolute favorite toy is a blue drawstring from an old pair of shorts (you can see how much she loves it in the picture). She likes to chases it, and is incredibly fast! She likes listening to the piano, and when she meows it sounds eerily like "hello?" This is very funny to be woken up to in the night. The first night I heard her hello-ing, I thought there was someone in our house! She is happy and healthy now and we don't remember what it was like without her. :) Thanks Kitty Connection for all you are doing, keep up the great work! Thanks, Julie, Greg and Angie
Charlie I brought my friend Jane into Pet Smart a few months ago and although she was reluctant to adopt a second cat (due to still dealing with her husband’s death last winter) I was able to convince her to adopt Nemo, known as Charlie now. He is absolutely fabulous and she adores him. And he loves her. He hopped into her lap the instant he arrived. He is extremely smart and very affectionate. His behavior is much like a dog: he fetches, inspects and steals from her handbag and comes when called. He has tried to befriend her other cat who is slow to be close buddies but they are okay. Jane's friend
Remy This is our very handsome Remy, a Snowshoe Siamese that we adopted 2 weeks ago. He is such a wonderful cat, with a great personality and he has completely taken over our house! He makes his demands loud and clear--my husband has given him the nickname of "Dinner Dish" and my son calls him "Lunch Box". Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do for the animals! Meg, Mike and Greg
Ricky Hi, I adopted Ricky from you back in February...okay, Jake, but I call him Ricky. He had ringworm back in April til about July and now he is clean of it...thank God. He is such a good cat and so sweet and loveable and very vocal with me, lol....we have conversations...lol All in all, so far, he is doing good. Take care, Millie
Jimbo Hello, just wanted to let you know that Jimbo is loving life with us. We adopted him back in February (kept the name) and though it was hard to choose I can't believe that we picked the absolute best cat. He has a such great personality. Thanks again, Irene
Bailey Hi, I just wanted to send a picture of Bailey (formerly Bamboo) with his sister, Bella. They get along very well and are beginning to spend lots of time playing together. Bailey seems to have recovered from a nasty mouth/gum infection. He hated his medication, but I know he feels alot better! He's also been to the groomers and loves his lion cut! We love him and he has adjusted to his new home wonderfully! Thank you so much!! Kerry
Viggo
Hey all, I just wanted to give an update on Viggo (formerly Moe). He's doing great in our new place. He's affectionate, friendly, and very playful - the perfect cat! As soon as we took him home from Kitty Connection he was purring up a storm, settling in to his new home, and he hasn't stopped since! No other cat I've met is as attention-loving and affectionate as Viggo! Thank you so much for such a wonderful animal, and keep up the great work! Thanks, Andy and Moriah
Chewy Hi, I wanted to write and thank you all for the lovely blessing in Chewy (formerly Yogi Bear)!. Chewy has been with me for almost 2 weeks, he is a great joy and is adapting well. Chewy's foster dad did a great job of helping him get house trained (kudos to Carlton!). Chewy loves attention from EVERYONE! How can you not stop and pet him, such a handsome young man! Chewy loves going outside for his walks and is starting to learn to play nice with the other dogs, though as a little man he still likes to prove hes tough! He has already claimed his throne on the couch and loves carrying his little blue doggy around the apartment. I often turn around and see the two of them. I love coming home to see his little happy face. Chewy loves going on car rides and getting his hair brushed (I think he is becoming a little vain like me j/k). Thank you for all you do saving these angels, and thank you again for Chewy! Cynthia
Oscar It has only been one week since we adopted Oscar (previously O.J. – his middle name is Jones so the initials still work) and we already feel like he is part of our family. He was very stressed while waiting to be adopted because he doesn’t feel comfortable around other cats, and he was hiding in a corner, but as soon as we got him to our apartment he was purring. He loves to sit on the windowsill and look outside, steal our spots on the bed and the couch, and fly through the air as he plays with all of his new toys. He is incredibly affectionate, and follows us around the apartment. Thank you so much for introducing us! Rachel
Eddy (formerly Redmond) We decided we'd like to adopt a little kitten as a great new addition to our family. We love animals and have a six year old bunny rabbit. While we would also like to get a puppy, we thought a kitten would be an easier introduction to a home with a resident rabbit (Rhudy, the resident rabbit!). My husband has had cats as pets all his life, but I was a bit skeptical about Rhudy welcoming a newcomer (especially inter-species), as he has been king of the castle for 6 years. At first, my suspicions seemed to be well-founded, as the two could not be in the same room together, without witnessing some tremendous aggression from one or both animals. Rhudy spent several days "re-marking" his territory after smelling the kitten a few times. With a few more vet-recommended gradual meetings (Eddy in a pet carrier, while Rhudy walked around it and sniffed), the aggression disappeared, as Rhudy got to learn that Eddy was much smaller in size, and really just looking for a play partner. Eddy and Rhudy have since made great strides, and while the relationship can sometimes be more antagonistic than harmonious, I think both are growing in their fondness of each other. Eddy likes to jump on Rhudy, sometimes on his head and try to get him to wrestle like a kitty. When Rhudy has had enough, he affectionately swats Eddy or jumps at him to let him know it is time to stop. Occasionally, Eddy gets knocked off his feet and learns a lesson about his older brother being in charge. Sometimes the two chase each other around in circles and they are beginning to share toys. Eddy likes to wander into Rhudy's cage occasionally to check out his digs and often naps outside the door. After playing for a while, and either pet leaves the room, the other searches for him and looks like he misses his counterpart. Whenever we open the door to the room Rhudy is in, the first thing Eddy does is go to check the cage to see if he is in it. If Rhudy is out, the hunt is on, until Eddy can find him, and get him to play "tag". Sherri
Henry Hi All, a quick update about this cute little cat you let me adopt (Tyler is still debating this).Mister (aka Henry) is still very active.I can pick him up at times, even kiss him, but then he will start to bite.He is always so happy to see me when I come home.Last Tuesday he injured his left eye.The vet saw him Wednesday and said it wasn’t from a fight but it looked like he just ran into something with his eye open.I have to put ointment in the eye 3 times a day until this Thursday. (Thursday can’t come soon enough for Henry.) When I went out of town for a week 3 weeks ago, my neighbors thought Henry was the best of all the cats. They described him as an ADD, active little child, running from one place to another. He is very silly, like Tyler can be.These two don’t fight but they aren’t loving friends yet either.Hope all is well and all the cats are finding wonderful, loving, permanent homes. Fondly, Pat
Mr. Friendly
Hello, I just wanted to give you guys an update on Mr. Friendly. He adjusted very well into our home. He is a blessing to our family and he has become like my second child! He's like a little baby who always wants to be held and carried around, he is such an amazing cat. Can you let Tanya (his former foster mother) know he is doing awesome in our home! Thank You, Jessie
Pickle and Porter I just want to let you know the kittens are doing GREAT! We love them so much. My daughter was so surprised and happy, she wakes up every morning and says "I am the luckiest girl in the world". It is hard to get pictures of them when they are awake, cause they are so playful and active. They have adjusted unbelievable well. Again thank you! Siobhán
Tigger Tigger, formally Jaclyn, is now getting along a little better with his big brother Jasper. They have been together a little over a week now. Jannaa
Bugsey and Brewski We adopted Bugsey and Whitey (now known as Brewskie) a few weeks ago, and we love them so much! We are so happy we were able to adopt the two together, because they like to play with one another. Both boys are absolute loves and follow us around the house, wherever we go. They talk to us when we get home, and love to jump in our laps for a good snuggle. They even like to sleep with us at night! When they aren't spending every free minute with us, they are lounging on the window sills and checking out the view. Thank you so much for everything you do, we are thrilled to have these two loves in our lives! Kelton and Josh
Jack and Boots Hey there! So, it's been over 2 months since I adopted Boots and Jack (Formerly Sox and Cracker Jax), and they have settled in like brothers. They LOVE to roll around play-fighting, and then when they get tired of that, they'll groom each other. Then they'll tousle some more, then groom, and so on. It's adorable! They are seriously the best cats I could have found. They sleep with me every night (Jack likes to be by my head, and Boots, who I call BooBoo likes to be by my side), and they are very helpful in making sure that I'm never alone (even in the bathroom!). Everyone who visits me falls in love with them - but who wouldn't? They're so charming. :) Thanks! Victoria
Dib and Gaz We wanted to thank you for taking care of Dib and Gaz (formerly Samantha and Topperina) and for matching us up with them. They are so playful and loving. Dib loves to stretch all the way out on his back and let us rub his belly - after a few minutes he will fall asleep like that. Gaz loves to snuggle up at my feet at night. And they both love to play. We have this feather toy, and I swear that they would go all day chasing it if we had the time. They love their new home and have settled in very nicely. We are attaching a couple pictures. Thank you again for all the work you do. Rebecca & Eric
Dominic Dominic is a very handsome grey and white green eyed boy. His nose is half black and half white. He has beautiful white paws. And he is FIV+. I adopted Dom in 2005. I was reassured by what Marie told me about incorporating an FIV+ cat into the household and also solicited opinions from other cat lover friends and my vet. Everyone said it is no problem. And it hasn't been. I have a dog and 2 other cats of my own plus a revolving door of fosters. Everyone is healthy and happy and Dom is the mentor of everybody new coming in to the house. One of my cats died in the summer of 2007 and I adopted a shy all grey kitten from Kitty Connection. This cat still does not want to be held by me, but adores Dominic. I have decided I got him to be Dom's pet! They are too sweet together. He is also the mentor to a petite FIV+ female foster I have had in my house for about 2 months. I encourage everyone to go for an FIV+ cat. They are a great addition to the family! Dawn
Sadie We adopted Sadie (formerly Joanna) in February at a Pet Smart adoption event. She instantly took to her new home and now we can't imagine our lives without her! She follows us through the house and runs to the door when she hears it opening. Sadie loves playing with her toys and sleeping in sunny spots by the window. But at night, she sleeps at the foot of our bed and has no problem waking up at 5am to play! We went to the adoption event on a whim, "just to look," and never imagined we would meet the perfect kitty for us. We absolutely love her. We're so glad we stopped in that day. Thank you Kitty Connection! Sincerely, Adam & Kim
Samantha
Hi, Kitty Connection, I want to tell you what a delight it is to have Samantha as a part of my family. She has such a fun personality -- she always looks for a game of tag or wants to wrestle with my hand as I tickle her here and there! -- and is so very loving. She loves to have her ears rubbed and enjoys a good brushing as she sits on my lap. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give Sammy a home. Melinda
Rondo Hello Marie and Karen, I wanted to update you girls on Heavenly (now called Rondo). He is still on the shy side, but feeling more comfortable each day. He loves to play with his toys and loves eating and sleeping. I wanted to thank you for answering all my questions I had at anytime. I want to thank you for rescuing Heavenly so that I could have a long happy life with him. I love him so much. I adopted him at the beginning of March. I thought it would take him awhile to feel comfortable; I was wrong. Thank you for bringing Heavenly (now called Rondo) into my life and for everything Kitty Connection does for animals. Thank you. Sue
Penny Dear Kitty Connection, Hello again! I'm writing to give you an update on Penny, who we adopted in February. Penny (we kept the name you gave her) has been a wonderful addition to our family. Aside from the very affectionate side that we saw when we first met her, she has become very interactive and playful, and is a joy to have around. We've even been able to take her outside on a leash! Attached is a photo of Penny in one of her favorite (and funniest) poses. :) Kathleen and Zac
Dharma
Dharma had a tough time adjusting to her new home. She was very scared. I never knew where we would find her. She would find the smallest spots to hide in and her favorite is under the recliner. At first I was a little nervous because I was afraid she would get hurt, but she is smarter than most humans, she knows where to lay not to get hurt. It is two weeks today and everyday she is getting a little bit more trusting. She is such a beautiful cat. The other night, my son-in-law had the two kids on his lap and all of a sudden she came out of no where and jumped up on the chair with them and last night I left my bedroom door open and she came in and slept on the bed for about and hour. Trusting us more everyday. She will let you pick her up with no fight, but she won’t let you hold her too long yet. Needs to trust us more, I just let her be and she comes to me. My grandson will not call her Dharma, he calls her “Blackie Pants Magee”, have to love kids… Maureen
Tux Hey guys! I adopted Tux from Kitty Connection in February, just a little more than a month ago, and already this apartment is more his apartment than mine. His first day home, he showed no signs of stress or fear, exploring every nook and cranny and immediately finding "his" spots. And just as much as he's made the apartment his own, he's adpoted me as much as I've adopted him. Tux is one of the sweetest kitties ever. He's absolutely friendly with everyone and loves the attention. Any time I leave, he follows me to the door, and whenever I return, he greets me with a chorus of meows and "chirps", so happy to see me return. In fact, whenever I close a door in the apartment (like when I need to take a shower), he calls out for me and is so excited when I come back out. The only time he uses his claws is when he's scratching his post, kneading on a blanket when he's content, or when he's particularly frisky, he'll plop over, grab my hand with his claws gently, and hold it there... so that he can thoroughly lick it. Even when playful, he's so friendly. Tux has one of the more curious palates I've seen. He wouldn't eat for the first few days (scared the bejeesus out of me) because I didn't get the exact kind of food he'd been used to (indoor formula versus the regular formula... nobody likes a diet!), but once I introduced his regular food again, he was more than happy to slowly switch over. He turns his nose up to most treats and most human food (which is good for me and my dinners!), but has a liking for plastic bags and my Brillo steel wool pad, so much so that I had to hide them in closed cabinets. Tux loves to play and loves to cuddle, and I have no doubt he will have a long and happy life with me. I had had my doubts when first considering adopting a cat, but now I have no doubts that I picked the perfect kitty for me. Thanks Kitty Connection! Matt & Tux
Jeffrey Hi, I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the MOST FABULOUS family cat I have ever met. We adopted Jeffrey about 3 weeks ago. He is a love. The first night we had him home he nestled up on our bed for the night! He is very playful and absolutely loves our children (ages 9, 3 and 1). He is gentle and loving with them. He loves to have his belly scratched and adores being held and petted most of the day! He gets along great with our 3 year old Pug, Oscar, also. Although they are not best friends, they "tolerate" each other and we have caught them "talking" to each other when they think we aren't paying attention! I have attached a few photos of Jeffrey in his new home...note that his new favorite place to sleep is in the baby crib with our 1 year old! :-) Thanks! Katy, Jason, Preston, Madelyn & Olivia
Chloe Hi, Karen and everyone at Kitty Connection! My husband and I adopted Chloe on a very cold Friday, February 7, 2009, at Pet Supply Plus. She was left at the pet store in a laundry hamper with her 7 month old son, Milo. We wanted to adopt a second kitty after our 7 1/2 year old female passed away from renal failure, leaving our male cat of the same age all alone. We hope Milo found a good and loving home. Chloe seemed so docile and shy when we saw her at the adoption center. However, as soon as we brought her home, she took over the very first night! As you can see from the picture, she found her nap spot that Friday night! She even slept at the foot of our bed the first night. I know you strongly recommended a safety room, but I couldn't convince my husband to do so. He's a softy! My other cat, Ziggy, is still leery of her. There is still quite a bit of spit and hiss on his part and the occasional spat. However, I think this will pass. She is very playful, with LOTS of energy! All the expensive toys I bought for my cats are FINALLY being used by her. She's very vocal, demanding of attention, and likes to chase Ziggy around. He's actually eating more to fuel his sprints away from her! Much to our delight, she was VERY GOOD when we gave her a bath and brushed her teeth! We just can't believe anyone would surrender her! With us, she found her forever loving home. We want to thank Karen and everyone at Kitty Connection for the opportunity to adopt Chloe. She has lifted our spirits during a very sad time of great loss for us. "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.", Ghandi. Thank you for all you do. Hurley Last fall we adopted Hurley (previously Jackson), a 4-6 year-old male, at a PetSmart adoption weekend. We are finally sending pictures and an update to let Kitty Connection know that he is doing great at his new home. We are a little obsessed with him. I never knew a cat could have so much personality -- he is extremely playful and loves people. I am very pleased with the experience of adopting an older cat and will do so again. Thanks for helping us rescue Hurley :) Molly and Dave
Astro and Bailey Attached are a couple of pictures of Astro and Bailey (formerly Ming & Ting). I adopted them on Jan 2nd and it took the about half a day for them to totally adjust and take over my household. These brothers are about a year old and very sweet and playful. They follow me around like puppies and talk to me when they think I'm not paying enough attention to them. I've never had cats before (only dogs) and I never imagined they would be so much fun. Everyone who meets them tells me how wonderful they are. They enjoy showing off their toys for my guests. I think they are pretty happy with their new home. Thank you so much, I feel so lucky that you hooked me up with these guys. Carol
Cambridge Matt and I wanted to send you all some photos of Cambridge; he is doing very well with us and we love him to pieces! You were absolutely right when you described him as an "instigator" but you also described him as "the best cat you'll ever have" and that is certainly true! We have taken to calling him "King Cambridge" since he decides when we get up in the morning. Sincerely, Elly
