Donations Needed for TNR (Trap/Neuter/Release)

Have you ever noticed a colony of cats hanging around your neighborhood?  Perhaps you yourself have kindly been feeding stray animals?  Why are there so many animals out there fending for themselves?  The answer in most cases is that these animals have been abandoned or have been born into the wild without being spayed or neutered.  Thus, they continue to reproduce among themselves and these colonies grow.

Although no shelter or animal rescue group has the capability to rescue every single one of these animals, TNR groups can certainly help by trapping these animals and having them spayed or neutered to help stop reproduction.

But who pays for the related costs?  The people feeding the animals are not able to handle all medical costs, and the shelters and animal rescue groups cannot either.  Shelters and rescue groups are able to feed, shelter and spay/neuter "adoptable cats" because of the donations they receive and from adoption donations.  But how do we help these poor unwanted animals?

That's where you can play a role.  Help continue the TNR programs that are desperately needed by making a donation toward TNR today.  Help us stop the reproduction of unwanted cats who live with disease, hunger and fear every day.

Please visit our donations page if you can help and let us know that you want to donate toward TNR.  Thank you.

Dogs of the Month
Opal
I am a 2 year old female Bull Terrier mix. I haven't had the best start to my life. After having puppies, I was put in a trap and left for dead under a bridge, my body submerged in water with only my head afloat. This gave me a little bit of separation anxiety but my foster home and I are working on this. I am the sweetest girl ever. I LOVE going for rides in the car and walks. I would be best as an only dog. I am a love bug and I do not mind being around kids over the age of 3-4, as long as they do not try to take my toys. With that said, I am learning better toy etiquette so I do not try to grab my toys too excitedly. When you play with me use caution so I do not mistake you for my toy. I need to play with very durable toys because I destroy them so quickly. I want a home that will give me LOTS OF LOVE but someone who has patience and a stern voice to help make me an even better dog.  My adoption donation is $150 and I am up to date on all my vet visits!  Please contact braveheartrescue@comcast.net if you are interested in Opal.  Please fill out the Braveheart Application at http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/21519120.

Emma
Emma is the victim of a divorce.  She is extremely friendly, playful and gentle.  She does well with other dogs but must be introduced properly.  She is wonderful with children.  She knows basic commands and still need to do better when being walked but she is still a baby.  She is 1 1/2 years old.  She is crate trained and is trained to go outside when necessary.  Emma is part Lab and Great Pyrenees.  We have no space and we need a foster home that will be committed to training in Medford with a Kitty Connection trainer

Cat of the Month
Maizie and Max

We are desperately searching for a forever home for these two friends -- Maizie, female 7, and Max male 4.  All supplies included. Max will sleep in bed with you and Maizie is just happy to see Max in the same place as her!

Even Stressed Out Cats and Cats with Medical Needs Need Loving Homes

Genero was one of those cats that just didn't show well at adoptions.  He would get so stressed and lash out in his fear.

Precious was a 10-year old cat with a hyper thyroid.  Many thought she should be put down because maybe she would be too much trouble.

Two years later, both Genero and Precious are happily living with Louis, who took a chance on them and gave them a loving home.
They were given a second chance at life because of their adopter’s patience and understanding.
Now look at these two beautiful cats!

We’re always looking for special people like Louis to adopt some of our less adoptable cats.  Are you one of those people?  We hope so!

Temporary Foster Home Needed for Gia
Gia is a 17 month old, spayed, puppy/young adult Pit Bull weighing about 55 lbs. We are looking for a foster home without other pets so that Gia can recover after ACL surgery on her knee.  Gia's injury is a partially torn ACL described as "mild" in her medical report. It is the most common knee injury for dogs.  Gia will be going to see a specialist next week and we will know more about her recovery time following that visit. Anyone wanting to help with the medical expenses related to her surgery can make a donation through PayPal or by mailing a check to Kitty Connection, 6 Cudworth St., Medford, MA 02155.  Thank you.

Have Cats Will Travel!

We are looking to purchase a car for our volunteers to use in transporting animals to vet visits and to use for trap/neuter/release.  We have a car in mind, but now we need the money to purchase it...and that's where our wonderful sponsors and donors can help.  The cost of this pet life-changing vehicle is $4,500.  The car we are hoping to purchase is shown below.

If you can help, please send your check to Kitty Connection, 6 Cudworth St., Medford, MA, or click on the button below.

We appreciate any help you can give to get us mobile!  Thank you.

Foster homes are desperately needed for bully breed dogs. Please send us a filled out foster application with your preferences stated.  We will keep your application on file until a dog that fits your description turns up in the rescue.

Emergency Fund
Update:
Sebastian had his visit to an opthamologist.  His left eye had a bad injury in the past and it's scarred over.  As it turns out, no treatment will be needed.  That is great news!  We could still use help funding his visit to the specialist.  Thank you!
