Hi, my name is Stephany and I adopted a kitten from Kitty Connection almost 3 years ago. He is such a handsome boy and has brought so much joy into my life. I have attached a few pictures of him. His name is Sylvester. Stephany
Payton Hi Marie, I have been meaning to write to let you know that Payton has been doing unbelievable well. I'm so glad that you encouraged me to stick with him and to give him another chance. You should see how much he has grown! He is still a love and is extremely outgoing and playful. I can't imagine our house without him now. If I can be of any help to new adoptive families with cats that have similar aggression/separation anxiety issues, please feel free to use me as a reference for support. I can offer whatever advice I can on what worked for Payton and our family. Mostly, I can offer that you need to have patience, which is what you taught me. With warm thanks, Kim
P.S. - I'm passing along a few of recent photos. Isn't he handsome? : )
Fay Hi, Fay is doing great; she is a happy caring loving cat. She is pretty much settled in and comfortable. I am very happy to have her here. Thank you, Frank
Omar and Tofu Hi Kitty Connection! It’s been a while but we wanted to share some photos and stories about Patches and Sagamore now Omar and Tofu! We adopted them back in 2009 when they were 6 weeks old. Omar was and always will be independent but has grown into a "closeted" cuddle buddy. Tofu has been mistaken for a girl a few times but that's only because of his big Disney-like eyes. He loves to sleep on his back and plans his day around "how to take over as alpha". They were also featured on Modcatlove as cats of the week -- http://modcatlove.com/?s=omar. We can't imagine our lives without them and are grateful for everything you have done for them and for all the cats that need a loving home. We'll be back for more once we have a bigger home! Christine and Andrew
Gadget
We adopted Gadget (aka Ridley) last April. He's doing great. He's not a fan of laundry day!!! Bonnie
Davi
Here are a few pics of Davi settling into his new home....He is SUCH a love! Slept with me all night long, follows me everywhere, has not hissed at anyone once (despite getting some hisses from his siblings and chased by the bunny--who was just excited to have a new friend!). I am giving him his medicine even though he hates it. No runny nose or any signs of a URI. Right now he is sleeping on a cat bed on my desk while I get some work done. Thank you so much! What a special cat he is! I will be in touch with more updates and pictures...and I will be calling the woman whose number you gave me about the microchipping too. Best, Hila and Davi
P.S. "Davi" is a shortened form of the name David...which means cherished. :) He is named after my late cat Delia who was a total love bug herself. She had mild cerebellar hypoplasia and was a very sweet and lovable girl.
Chester
Hey Sam, it's Yamarie! Thanks for shooting us the e-mail, and I very happy to say that Chester is definitely now a part of our family! He is adjusting very quickly to his new home, although he is still a little iffy about letting people touch him. But that’s something we know will take some time, so we give him the comfort he needs. Like I said before, he is a very curious cat! He loves coming out of his "safe house" to see what else is in store for him around our home but gets scared very easily and storms back in his comfort zone! He is too cute! Last night he actually jumped on my bed and slept with me for quite some time, until he decided he wanted to run around the room! And as for my mom and Chester, my mom LOVES him! Actually, last night she was in my room playing with Chester and spending time with him. He is too funny when it comes to playing and gets easily entertained. I am very happy that we chose Chester and do not regret it one single bit! He is still a kitten at heart and he sure acts like one sometimes! haha Thank you for giving us such an amazing cat!
Rafferty
Hi, there, I
just wanted to let you know that we LOVE our Rafferty so much and he is doing
great! Thank you for rescuing our boy off the streets, taking such good care of
him (Thank You Louis!) and helping find his forever home with us!!!I'd be happy to do a write up about the
positive side of adopting a cat with FIV if you're interested in posting it on
your site :)Here are two pics of
our big happy boy Raffy!Thanks
again!Kristin and Jonathan
Miranda Hi Marie - Vitamin K, now known as Miranda, is doing great! She is really a sweetheart: playful, affectionate, sits on someone in the evenings while we watch TV, and sleeps with one of us each and every night.I could not have asked for a better kitty. If only we could get her to stop passing gas!Our other 8 year old cat has his moments as he has passed his "playfulness" stage and sometimes does not want to tolerate Miranda's.But, we are hoping he gets rejuvenated by her antics.Attached is a picture from around the Holidays. Shaula
Gracie We LOVE Gracie. She is a true sweetheart. Such a calm, easy-going dog. She loves her long walks, sitting out on the porch - keeping guard, snuggling up to whomever has a free hand to pat her.We are so happy to have made her a part of our family. We think she'll agree.Ann
Katchu
Hi there, I just wanted to update everyone on how wonderful Katchu is doing in her new forever home. Within a few hours of being here she was up on my bed and cuddling with me. The next day she was getting curious and exploring the house. My dog and cat are completely fine with her and my daughter and I are madly in love with her. We are SO happy that we adopted her. We decided to keep her name as Katchu but we added the middle name "Cutie". I've attached a picture of her lounging in my bed (her favorite spot). Thank you so much for bringing us together. Kerry
Kenji When Kenji first came to us, he was very sad. We could tell he missed his family a lot. But even though he was sad, he was still friendly and well-behaved. We didn’t want him to be lonely, so we took him for long walks and runs. His first day with us, he ran eight miles! We’ve decided to cancel our gym memberships. The first two weeks with Kenji were a little difficult, as we all had to get used to one another. But once we settled into a routine, things ran much more smoothly. Kenji spends the mornings on his own. After lunch, he goes to Andrew’s office, where he’s very popular. Andrew’s office mate loves Kenji, and often takes him for runs. He’s made friends with the secretaries, who give him treats. Even Andrew’s boss loves him. She saves him lamb bones from dinner. Cambridge. Sometimes he goes hiking. For Christmas, he’s on Long Island, where he’s hanging out with Michelle’s family, including the family dog, Molly. As you can tell, Kenji gets along well with other dogs. Clearly, he was well socialized and well trained as a puppy. He knows lots of commands: sit, stay, paw, roll-over, high five, left and right. Those last ones are important, because we’re thinking of joining Boston Snow Dogs, an urban mushing club. Kenji is a great dog, and we’re very happy to have him in our lives.. Andrew
Chloe
Here are some pictures of Chloe,
formerly known as Bounty, for your success photo wall. Thank you.Sincerely, Paige
Wild Aces and Viva
Here are some pictures of the little ones! They
are very happy here. Wild Aces has been less energetic than Viva. We took her
to the vet because she has not been eating or drinking water. Did you have
issues with this when she was with you? We have tried 4 different types of food
(2 different wet and 2 dry) and she is not taking to any. Viva seems to take
all of the food! The vet said Wild Aces was healthy, but she is not 3-4 months,
she is 6 months. She is most likely the runt being so small. The vet gave her
some IV fluids, and she ate some wet food from the vet (which he gave us a
can), but she has not eaten or drank anything since. We could not bring a stool
sample in, since she has only had one very loose one the first day she was with
us. If she does not eat tomorrow, we will be taking her to the vet again. They
are both very cuddly and loving exploring the house now. We had them in our
spare room up until today. Jena
Silverado Hi Marie, I uploaded a bunch of pictures of Silverado for you and one adorable video of him playing! enjoy! :)Melissa
Dear Kitty Connection, my name is Buddy...it was Turnip till my
Mommie & Daddy adopted me from you. We are celebrating Happy
Home Day today. I was adopted a year ago today. Since I was a
stray....we don't know when my actual Birthday is. If you look below...there's my picture and description from when I was with you
for my adoption...and then here's a picture of me recently.
I've grown and gained some weight. My
Mommie made a song....you need to think of the Music from The Beverly
Hillbillies:
Let me tell you a story ‘bout a cat
named Buddy
Was out in the cold thought he had
nobody
Then one day Mom & Dad took him
home
Soon after that...he knew he wasn’t all
alone
Home it is…gettin fed…heated bed
Grizzly
Hello, sorry it has taken so long, but I wanted to send along
some pictures of "Snizzle". He has been renamed Grizzly, and is quite
the troublemaker! We adopted him around February/March of this year, he had
been found in a snow and drizzle storm (hence the name). He has been a nice
addition to our pet family of one 16-yr old cat and one 5 -yr old Italian
greyhound. Grizzly's fav position is the dead cat (flat on his back, all paws
up). We had hoped that how he was found would be a deterrent to him about going
outside, but we still have to watch him when we go in and out as he really
wants to be an outside kitty (never gonna happen!!) Thank you for rescuing my
sweet Grizzly. Keep up the great work!!! Sincerely, Samantha and family
Zeek
Zeek is doing well. He even gained some weight now at 9.2 1b. Here is a picture of him. Thanks for the follow-up.Hang
Waddles
Some very grateful faces in anticipation of Thanksgiving! Thanks
again for your help. :) And this is why
we love to help! Happy Thanksgiving girls! Brigette
Tony Hi Marie et al! I just wanted to share an update on Tony, formerly Golden Eyes/Golden Boy/G.B. I adopted him a couple of weeks ago at an adoption event. I went in and there were two adult cats waiting for homes. One of them was a very friendly and affectionate lady, nuzzling me and purring. The other was a very shy boy and he backed as far into the corner of his crate as felinely possible when I tried to meet him. He was also FIV+. So guess which one I took home? ;) I figured the other lady would find a home fairly easily because she was so sweet, and Golden Boy might be stuck in a crate for a looong time because he was so shy and FIV+ to boot. A volunteer put him in a carrier and he started to meow, and it was the cutest meow of all time! I took him home and he promptly hid under the bed. When I woke up the next morning, I couldn't find him, but I figured he was just hiding out and getting used to the apartment. When I came home from work that afternoon, I started to worry because I still couldn't find him. I called my dad and he came over and we looked forever and I thought I was the worst cat mom ever. But my dad found him! So I named him Anthony, for the patron saint of lost things - Tony for short. Then he didn't eat for two days straight, which made me very nervous! Finally, he ate a little bit of wet food. The next day, he chose underneath the bathtub as his new home. If I sat on the bathroom floor, though, he'd come out. And once he realized I am not going to hurt him, he goes nuts for love! He purrs and rubs against me and, more than anything else, plops down on his back for belly rubs! I kid you not - this cat is afraid of shoes, the stairs and his own reflection, but he already trusts me enough that he spends most of his time begging for belly rubs! It's hilarious. He also likes to head-butt me if I put my face near his face. At night he sleeps next to my head, sometimes just sitting there like a sentry. Now he has moved from under the tub to the shelf next to it - it's his little perch. I think he sits there all day til I come home. When I do come home, unless a loud noise scares him, he will wander around the apartment as long as I am there, hoping to eat (yes, he now eats like a gorilla) and cuddle if I am not busy, and if I am busy he plays with toy mice and lounges on his sofa-shaped cat scratcher.
My favorite thing right now about Tony is his extra-long tongue. I think sometimes it gets in his way - the vet says he doesn't have any dental or mouth problems but sometimes he just can't get his mouth around dry food. Also he makes weird slurping noises sometimes. It bothered me until I saw him cleaning up after breakfast this morning. He had wet food and was licking his lips - by which I mean most of his face! I swear, his tongue reaches up to his eyeballs. Too cute, especially when he sticks it out at me sometimes - that bright pink against his otherwise very serious-looking gray self!
Thank you guys so much for having that adoption event, I am already so much happier to have Tony hanging out with me all the time. I am taking him to the vet this week for some baseline blood work and microchipping. This is just one more story of a cat who was very shy and scared at an event but who just needed someone to make him feel safe, because really ALL he wants to do all the time is cuddle and be next to me!
Cheers, Bobbie
Marco Hi Marie, Elizabeth, and all volunteers- I am sending along some recent shots of Marco (renamed from Edward Cullen) along with his success story, just in case you guys would like to post it on the website. We've been blessed with our little Marco Bello since we adopted him in August. He has brought so much joy to our home since his arrival, we just can't thank you all enough. Our older cat Mika and little Marco became friends at the start; we were worried that Mika would need time to adjust, as all cat books/websites advised, but his cuteness won her heart too it appeared...Marco is our healthy, growing boy with a perfect balance of curiosity and cuddliness. He's almost the size of 2 yr. old Mika, he has big white paws, a random appetite for raviolis we found out, the courage of a little lion-man, and the sweetness of a cuddly baby kitten. He's a love...and we all wish the best for your organization, Marco's litter-mates, and his Mama cat. Happy Holidays and Happy Future Adoptions!!!Best, Tara Lauren Mika and Marco
Priscilla We adopted Priscilla a little over 2 weeks ago. I originally went into Kitty Connection to visit with another cat. When I walked in Priscilla walked right over to me and jumped on my lap and demanded lots of love. I immediately fell in love with her and decided to take her home. Priscilla is a very fitting name for her since we agree she is very regal. As you can see from the picture she likes to sleep in the bed under the covers and on a pillow. She is sweet with the kids, even the 8 year old that loves to pick her up and kiss her. She is so very patient with Milo the Pug as he gets use to having a cat in the house. Priscilla is my new baby and we all love her so much and can't imagine being without her. Thank you Kitty Connection.
Penny Hi Marie et al, I wanted to share with you how great an addition Penny (formerly Cosmo, and formally "Penelope Pussycat") has been to our lives! From the moment we brought her home, she's been following us from room to room talking to us and rubbing against our legs. She sleeps at the foot of our bed every night and meows on the other side of the door every day when we come home from work. We make sure to open the shades for her when we're gone as she enjoys watching the birds, squirrels, and people outside. She also loves playing with a bouncy wire toy we have and plops down on the floor purring loudly whenever she's "caught" it (and will sometimes carry it onto the bed with her at night). I've recommended Kitty Connection to several of my friends, and wish you continued success. Thanks again, Morgan and Matt P.S. I've attached some pictures, and here's a video!
Angel
When we first saw a picture of tiny white 'Jully' on the website
it was love at first sight. We adopted him in September 2011 and named him
Angel. He has brought so much fun and joy to our family that we don’t even
remember how life was before him. Angel and my 5 year old cuddle themselves to
sleep every night, and they can’t have enough of each other. We couldn’t be
more thankful and happy that Angel was rescued and finally got into our lives. Milena, Josi & Melissa
Lily
Hi Elizabeth --I renamed Princess Wood LILY and she is an absolute love! My other cat, MAX, adores her too -- they are best buds. I could not have wished for anything better. Here is a picture.Jo
Max
Hi Elizabeth!Darkwing, or Max as we call him, is great. He and our girl cat Lola have become friends after a long and icy beginning. He's the alpha...always wants to eat and use the litter box first LOL.He's also become famous for dive-bombing our toes in the middle of the night. He's such a spunky little guy and we enjoy him a lot. Thanks, Rena
Luna Hi Elizabeth! Hops is doing really well!We re-named her Luna and she's growing so fast! She went for her second distemper shot yesterday and just finished a round of worm medication. She's so adorable and well-behaved (most of the time) and we just love her so much. We've taken tons of pictures over the past few weeks and I've attached a few.Dana
Bry
Hi, everything is
going great with Bry (we shortened the name a bit). She is getting along well with our other cat
Rondo. She also loves our new spacious apartment in Arlington where both
the cats can hang in a different room, hang out together, or run amok up
and down the hall. She's slowly learning how to talk to the fat birds
that sit outside our living room window from Rondo, but most times she
just meows loudly at them. I attach a close up of her which I took when
she just woke up after sleeping next to me for most of the day on the couch.
She looks so cute! I hope all is going well with you guys.Keep up the good work!Tracy and Jim
Skye
Hi Elizabeth, I have been meaning to contact you all
with great news about Cassiopia-who I have renamed Skye! She is getting so big since I brought her
home! She is such a sweet and cuddly cat and I am so happy to have her. She
gets along very well with my older cat Sunny as you can see from the photos.
They are playing beside me as I type. :) Thank you Kitty Connection!Amy
Ninja and Daisy
Hello, in September of 2010, we adopted two kittens that we named
Ninja and Daisy. They are the most loving and playful kitties I have ever
had and we are so glad that they joined our family. They are truly
brother and sister partners in crime but only because they are forever curious
and fun. Thanks again for saving Ninja and Daisy! Elizabeth
Jack and Lil Sister
Hey guys. Hope
all is well for you two on this windy cold Friday. Let me start by saying how
thankful Holly and I are for our two new bundles of kitty joy. They have both
taken to us like you wouldn't believe and we're loving it. Although we did
slightly change their names - Smashing Pumpkin is now just "Jack" - short
for jack'o lantern aka Pumpkin - and the girl is Lil' Sister instead of Twisted Sister. You'll find attached some pictures of the kids taken today since
they're in the studio with me. As I said, here's a link to my website where you
can see my work at www.mardenized.com. Feel free to
have a look.Take care and
enjoy your weekend. Once again we enjoyed meeting you all last night and thank
you for our new little friends...with all sincerity.Dave
Felix and Dexter
Hi Elizabeth, the kitties are doing
wonderfully.We named them Felix and
Dexter.They have adjusted really well
and are great additions to the family :)Sincerely, Trenae
Thistleclaw
Hello, Thistleclaw is doing well! She's bigger and a joy to be around. She's also GORGEOUS!!! Thank you!Smith
Madeleine and Trevor
Hi Kitty Connection, Just wanted to share this cute pic of our two kitties, both of whom we adopted from you. Madeleine is on the left, and she is now about 2 1/2 years old. Trevor is on the right, and he is about a year now. They're both doing great - healthy, sweet, and picture perfect. :) We're so happy to have them. Thanks!Emily
Barrett and Yarra
Hi! Citrus Bubbles and Autumn Leaf, now Barrett and Yarra,
are doing great and have made such progress in such a short time! They have
their own bedroom and seem to like it. The first day or so the brother mostly
hid but has been out more and more and they both love to be petted and brushed
and play with their toys. Yarra is a little more adventurous and is a little
"helper." They've started to venture out of their room and explore
the rest of the house. I think they're both so happy to be together. Yarra will
go and explore something and it's as if she reports back to Barrett to tell him
all about it and then he's right there with her checking it out. They're doing
great with eating, drinking water, and using the litter box and love playing
with their "Angry Birds" bell ball toys. The only thing I've
noticed is neither of them really "meow," they both purr when being
petted etc. and will make little noises now and then. I'm not really concerned
but was wondering if that's normal? Thanks so much! ~ Sabrina
Bunny
Marie/Elizabeth, just wanted to let you know that Bunny is coming along great! She has come out of hiding and is enjoying watching John cook in the kitchen and outwitting Buttons in Hide and Seek.Thank you sooooo much for letting us adopt her. She will have a safe, warm, playful home for the rest of her life... !!!!!Thanks again, Mark & John
Thurshpelt
Hi Elizabeth - Thanks again
for the wonderful kitten! He is getting along amazingly well with our
other two kitties and he couldn't be happier in his new home. I am
shocked at how quickly they all became friends, he's even sharing food with
them! (Well, he should be eating his
kitten food but he always wants what the big kids have) :) They all love to
play together and race around the house playing tag. His favorite place
to sleep is on the top of the cat tree in the living room and he is a joy to
cuddle with when we sit on the couch. Thanks again for such a wonderful
kitty!-Ally
Conroy
Hi Marie, I wanted to share my success story with Conroy. As you remember he had come from a difficult situation and was very shy! He had a very traumatic ride home with me and for almost a week wouldn't eat or come near me - forget about taking his medicine! We started to call him Alien, because all we ever saw of him was a grey head and eyes poking out from underneath a blanket or from a corner of the room. I was starting to panic, but your advice to be patient and to just sit with him whenever I could really paid off! He started eating after 4 or 5 days. Soon after that, we heard him playing with his toys while we were downstairs. After about ten days of trying to pet him, I finally found a spot to scratch him under his chin where he couldn't resist! All of a sudden I was his best friend. Now he loves to be with my husband and me and wants all of our attention. He plays fetch with his mouse, scratches on his scratching post and talks to us all of the time. He is no longer scared of strangers either and will let visitors pet him if they are patient. These pictures were taken by Kayla actually when she was cat sitting this past weekend. And best of all, my husband hasn't had any allergic reactions to him! Thanks again for all of your help!Best, Jackie
Ragan
He is doing great...came into the condo and had no desire to be gradually introduced to the other animals. He wanted out of the bathroom and since he's been out, he's been on every piece of furniture, knocking things off the mantles. Here is a picture of his first night.Rene and I will get some more and give you a full report this weekend. Marie
Willow
Hello again, I hope you are both doing well.Better late than never!. Here are some pics of our beloved Willow (aka Parcheesi)! She has truly become one of the family. Her personality is still developing and every day she discovers something new! Here favorite things to do are eat and sleep! Her favorite places to sleep are my daughter Grace's doll bed, the kitty bed we bought her, all of our beds, and of course - right in the middle of the floor where we walk!Take care, Nicole
Gumdrop Gumdrop was adopted over 3 years ago. She was very sick and skinny after her ordeal and we wanted to give her a chance to have a home and recover getting lots of love. She is the apple of our eyes and we couldn't think of life without her. She is a full bodied lady now who loves to be petted, loved and cuddled. She is a Diva enjoying all the love and attention that her daddies give to her. John
Caroline My sweet Caroline came to me as Superwoman from Kitty Connection. She always looked sweet but was very scared. She immediately took to her new brothers and sister (Gizmo, Cloey and Daphne) and they accepted her right away! But as far as she was concerned she didn't want to be touched or held by us humans! Each day I would just sit and talk to her and try to pet her. She would actually sit and listen :) Now as time has passed she loves to be petted and still enjoys being talked to but is not a lap kitty. I am sure with more time and love she eventually will enjoy being held! She brings me much joy just watching her interact with the other cats, whether it's playing or just sleeping with them. I wish more people would give shyer cats a chance as they just need to be loved and reassured! I love Caroline and she is a big part of our kitty family and she has her forever home that she truly deserved! Debra
Kitty Connection is thrilled that this cat who was rescued from a hoarding situation has found such a good home with Debra!
Cody Hey Elizabeth and Marie!I hope you're doing well. I thought you'd like to know that Cody (formerly Jacob) is doing well in his new home and we love having him. He's a total joy. His brothers are loving the playful energy and he's getting lots of love. I've attached some pictures of Cody with his new brothers. Enjoy! :)He's been to the vet and all is well. He weighs a whole 2.3 lbs. now. He goes back in a couple weeks for his rabies.I hope you're making the best of what's left of summer. Take care!Samantha
Percy Hi Kerri, I've attached some recent pictures of Mogli/Percy. He's been socializing very well with the family and his older sister (Sarah the calico). He's growing very fast! Hope all is well with you, Katy
Briarlight
Hi Marie and Jackie, I just wanted you to see the first picture I've taken of Briarlight. She is settling in very well (the fastest I've ever seen a cat deal with such a transition). In the photo she is watching her new playmate play with their new toy I just bought them (a scratching post) and is sporting her new florescent green color (although I don't think you can see it very well in the photo). Thanks for giving us this opportunity to add another kitty to our family. Tracy
Timtam
Hi Marie,
I just want to share this photo of Bingo (now called Timtam) with our other
cat, Kermit. They are getting along really well so far - a little bit of
wrestling and chasing, but nothing aggressive. They like to sit together all
the time and often sleep together at our feet at night. I even found him
grooming Kermit the other day. He's such a love!Just wanted to pass this along... Kristen
Diesel I am the adoptive mom of a dog, previously on your site, who was formerly known as "Bruno" (his name is "Diesel" now). He is so smart, and took to obedience training very quickly and easily. He is a great running partner, very social, and now very well behaved. In fact, I plan to register him with the Canine Good Citizen's association so that we can do some in-patient therapy work together. Because Diesel is so social, there are no dogs in our neighborhood, and I would greatly like to have another, I came back to your organization. I thought that the way in which the animals were cared for was outstanding, and now I have had my eye on Sandy for a little bit. Can you give me any additional on her location? Or the foster parent information? Thank you so much :) - Leah
Litttleman (formerly Havoc) today
Littleman
7/18/11 Update: Havoc (Littleman) is doing well. I've attached a picture of him from about a month ago, he continues to grow and is completely adorable. He continues to learn and try climbing to new heights all the time. He loves playing with his sister, Sandy, who tends to initiate tiffs with him and then he continues when she runs away, he chases her, it's the cutest thing, he's such a little scrapper. He sometimes plays with his brother, Ollie, but plays more with Sandy and when I say play, I mean, chase lol. He had a ball last night with playing with one of those things with a feather on the end of it, he was loving it, attacking it. He's so cute and has really come a long way considering it has been a year since we got him and almost a year since he started with the seizures.
-------------------------------------------- Hi Marie, hope all is well with you.I wanted to email you an update on Havoc (Littleman). He is doing well, not to jinx it.We went away a couple of weeks ago to Aruba to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary. While we were away, we boarded him at a kennel. They were really good and took good care of him. When we got back, he started doing more cat types of things. He just recently started learning how to knead. I don't think he totally understands it yet, but it's so cute watching him doing it.He continues to make great progress and is such a cute and lovable cat.We love him so much and continually think about how grateful we are for your helping us with him.Talk to you soon.Maureen
Note from Kitty Connection: Some of you may recall Havoc from our Medical Emergencies page. We are happy that Havoc has made it through his first year after having been ill as a kitten. He still has seizures but with the love of his family he is doing well!
Havoc as a sickly kitten
Gadget
Everything is going
very well. We just came from the Vet this morning for the Distemper
Booster that he needed. He has gained about 1 pound in a month since
we've had him. Oh...and we changed his name. Our other cat is
Gizmo so we named him Gadget. Seems to go together. He is
getting along wonderfully with Gizmo. They wrestle and play together all
the time. They seem to be having such a great time together. Gadget
is very affectionate! We just love him! I guess we were in
the right place at the right time. Here are a couple of pictures. I
was trying to get one with him and Gizmo together but they refuse to
pose. Thanks. Bonnie
Pumpkin and Kiki We found your shelter about a year-and-a-half ago after the loss of one of our beloved Russian Blue kitties. Pumpkin, 11 weeks at the time, was wandering around in between all of the people searching for food (he still loves to eat). He has been a wonderful addition to our family. After the recent lost of our second Russian Blue, we visited the shelter again and found Kiki, eight weeks old, who we thought was a girl. However, at a recent vet check-up, we found out that Kiki is a he, not a she! So now he is still Kiki, but we look at him a bit differently than we did before. As you can see, Kiki has taken to his new home and to his new big brother Pumpkin. When they aren't sleeping, Kiki tends to be chasing Pumpkin and when caught, he lick's Pumpkin's ears. Pumpkin tolerates it very nicely.
I highly recommend this shelter as they do an amazing job of taking in cats and kittens, finding good homes for them and preparing the new owners. The early vet visits that they conduct provide a great deal of information at the time of adoption. With so many homeless cats, I can't recommend this shelter enough. I would also encourage anyone looking for new pets to consider two cats - perhaps a kitten and an older cat. As you can see, the age difference can work out very well! Katherine
Larry Hi Marie, Tag is now named Larry and he is doing awesome! We are so happy to have him part of our family. He sleeps with us every night and gets along well with our other cat. He is super playful and friendly. Could not ask for a better kitty. Here are a few pictures, he has definitely made himself at home. =) Thank you! Devany and Dan
Professor Good Morning Kitty Connection, I wanted to tell you how Professor was doing. He has two other animals he shares our home with, one Golden Retriever and one Sheltie. It took him a little time to settle in but he fits right in with our clan. He loves fresh water from the tap. It is the only bad habit getting up on the counter where the faucet lives. But I think we can live with that. He is very affectionate. We love him lots, we take him to NH with us and he loves the screen porch. He is definitely a hunter. MaryLou
Rabbi
Tania...It was great
to see you too! What a wonderful surprise. Rabbi Benjamin White Boots Regan
(aka Benny the Boots) really has settled in to his forever home. I can tell he
wants to rule the roost, but is also humble enough to let Boudica Irish Warrior
Princess (aka The Boo) and of course, Amy, our Boston Terrier, show him the
ropes and give them some space. He's really taken to Andrew and won't leave his
side, sleeps on his pillow, and hangs out on Andrew's favorite couch. But all
loyalty falls aside when it's dinner time and suddenly I'm his BFF for the 3
minutes it takes from the can to bowl to belly. We plan on spoiling him
rotten, as witnessed in the attached picture of our Kitty City (which will be
moved out of my dining room... eventually). I've also attached a picture of
Benny Boots with his new stuffed friend Shamrock Bear, because, you know,
everyone's Irish on St. Paddy's Day. :) Stay in touch...Maureen
Freddy
Hi Everyone at Kitty Connection! My name is Freddy and I was adopted by my Mama 5 years ago from Kitty Connection. As you can see, I am a very big boy (17 lbs.) but my vet says I am not fat! I'm just a huge kitty. For the past 5 years I have lived a happy life with Mama and my 3 kitty brothers. We all get along very well but the Siamese kitty and I have a special bond. We like to snuggle together and wash each others' faces. My favorite things are sitting in the window of the sun room to watch the bird feeder, treats and being brushed. I am a very friendly guy and love all people and always have to be the center of attention. Thank you to Marie for bringing me to my Mama! She is always telling me how handsome I am and that I am a very good boy. I also want to thank my Auntie Michelle for taking this picture of me. I think it shows off my good side. I hope others who may be thinking about getting a kitty will contact you. Mama says I have brought her much happiness through the years. Love, Freddy
Sponge Bob Hi Malinda, it's me Sponge Bob!! I've been in my forever home a little over 2 weeks now and WOW you did a great job picking my forever mommy... boy does she spoil me! Before I was rescued by Kitty Connection and went home with you I was living in that shelter all alone. I was so lonely and just wanted a warm lap to cuddle on. Well, I am happy to report that I got exactly what I wanted and MORE. I have a huge family now! I live in my forever home with my mommy and all her family and my little sister Fluffy (she’s almost 2).
My mom goes to work early but it's ok because my nana comes over and she feeds me and Fluffy, she lets us outside, and even plays with us! She's really fun! I got my nana in a little bit of trouble once because my mom found out that nana was giving me too much food and told her that I was on a diet!... A DIET??!! I'm not too sure what this diet thing is but my mom told me I "lost" 6oz so far; she was very excited and told me she was sooooo proud of me. Fluffy already taught me some fun things, like when the doorbell rings we bark and bark and bark, my mom says "no barking" but she laughs when she says it, and I even heard her say my bark is cute. I have a new "Sponge Bob Square Pants" blankie and pillow that I get to sleep on, lots of toys to play with, warm sweaters, and Mom even brushes my teeth! I know I am in a loving home especially because my mom always tells me she loves me (like a million times a day).
At night I usually snuggle with my mom and Fluffy in bed, Fluffy likes to play with our bones but I just like to sleep. I am very happy to be in my forever home and my mom said she would send you pictures, hope you got them!! I think me and Fluffy will be visiting your salon soon, and I am excited tell Buddy Love I said hi and that I am doing really great!!!
Ollie Black Jack
Hi Marie and Karen, I just wanted to write to tell you how madly in love we all are with Black Jack – now known as Ollie Black Jack. He is an absolute love and the most affectionate and precious kitten. He loves to explore, play and cuddle. He adjusted perfectly to our home and even Isabel, our 2 year old cat is curious about him and starting to play with him. They hiss and swat gently at each other, then chase each other around. They are slowly growing on each other. I’ve attached a few pictures – he’s tough to photograph coz he is always on the move. And when he cuddles, you can’t see him for a good photo because he is snuggled right under our arm or into our chests. Such a love! Thank you! Nanci and family
Louis Dear all, last year November we adopted handsome Louis (back then known as Piccato) and would like to give you a little update on him. Louis is a very gentle and docile cat who loves to keep us company: he sleeps on my laptop bag while I am working at my desk; he cuddles up next to me on the sofa when I am watching TV; he lies beside the table when the kids are doing their homework or when the entire family gets together for meals...he is a very social cat! It was not always like that, though. Louis has come a long way. Basically, he spent the first two weeks underneath the bed in his safety room. We could not blame him- he had been through a lot of terrible experiences. It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to be patient - we were rewarded with an incredibly sweet and affectionate companion. Just look at him! Isn’t he adorable? The Schumann Family
Hermes Karen, thanks for your email. I actually renamed him "Hermes" and he is doing great - he is the sweetest cat I've ever had and I love him to death. A couple pictures are attached. Hope all is well, Linsay
Zig Zag My name is Mary and my boyfriend and I adopted Zig Zag (now Bobbie Orr)
through the Kitty Connection. I know you
had wanted us to write a success story about her as she was a feral and
met her in November hissing behind a toilet :) she now plays out in the
open, follows us around and occasionally sleeps on the bed with us.
About a month ago we adopted another cat - Phyl Esposito (another girl
bout 1.5 years old, Bobbie is now about 8 months) and they have been
inseparable since. Thank you again! Mike and Mary
Finnian Hi Marie, sorry to be getting back to you so late. He is absolutely great!! We all love him so much, the two cats get along amazingly- like brothers, he's gained 3-3.5 lbs, and is very healthy according to my vet. He's very curious, which gets him into trouble but he's so cute you can't be mad at him. He's a very easy cat and I'm so happy about that. He also is the main animal no matter what house he's in. He takes control, even with dogs..it's hilarious. Thanks so much for my wonderful kitty, Jessica
Isabelle It's been 3 weeks since Isabelle's first day in her Forever Home! Everything is going great! It took her about a week to settle in with Beau, but they are becoming good buddies pretty quick! They get a 2 mile walk every day and we've taken her a couple of times out to the field where they run and run and run! The snow is getting somewhat soft, so we're doing the leashes and harnesses now. It may be a surprise, but she doesn't pull in the least! She's actually a pleasure to walk! When Beau and Isabelle walk side by side, Steve and I are in the background laughing! They bump into each other, cross in front of each other, etc. etc. and just keep truckin'! Dogs are just wonderful how they "move on"! No toys allowed yet, only when they are separated, but in due time I'm sure they will be fine with that. She's pretty funny in the dark though...we have to go out with her in order for her to go all the way down in the pen at night! Not quite sure of herself but Beau is one of the best Big Brothers she could have and is always helping her out with that! She's a very, very smart little girl and is getting the ground rules down quickly! She's got Steve wrapped around her little paw!! :) No worries - she's got a good home and we love her!! Thank you for saving Isabelle! She's completed our "pack" again! Judy and Steve
Charlie
Dear Kitty Connection, here are some photos I took of Charlie (Banana Split) who I adopted on Feb. 12th. He's such a sweet little guy and is having lots of fun with his "brothers." He's still a little shy around me but I'm giving him his space until he's ready to come to me on his own. He's been to the vet for his last distemper shot and she gave him a clean bill of health as well. He's a wonderful addition to our family.Charlene (Charlie's Mom)
Champ
Hi Marie, I wanted to thank you again for all your help yesterday and making sure we were all set to take Champ home. I just want to let you know that it took Champ no time at all to get adjusted. We did use a safe room like you said and let him get comfortable. He came out of the carrier as soon as I opened it and we were playing in no time. He is so loveable and we are so glad that he is part of our family now. Also, I am going to make sure to look on the website, but anything I can do to help out and spread the word, please let me know. The work you and the others do is amazing, the cats that are fortunate to find you are very lucky. Thanks Again, Kerri & Sara
Dexter
Dexter (formally known
as Dancer) is the sweetest little boy ever. He has brought so much joy to my
life and to my 1-year-old tortie River's life. Before Dexter joined our family,
River was filled with excess energy and was a bit high strung. There was a bit
of hissing from River for the first 24 hours of Dexter being with us, and then
she fell as much in love with him as I did. The two of them are always playing,
wrestling, chasing, jumping, exploring, and sleeping together. They are the
best of buds, and River has mellowed out into such a gentle, caring kitty.
River holds Dexter down and gives him baths regularly, which is so charming to
watch. They are both so engaging, with each other and with me. They also have
these little chirping conversations with each other that are simply the cutest
thing ever. The two of them have brightened and enhanced my life greatly, in
too many ways to count. Thank so much
Kitty Connection Volunteers, for helping me find the perfect kitty to join my
family.Elizabeth :o)
Sprout and Cauliflower
Hi Stacey, both kittens are doing extremely well and they are inseparable. I have attached a picture for you.Robert
Jake
Hi, Feb 16th made two years that I had adopted
Ricky (but, you had him as Jake and I changed it) so now he is 11 years old and
has been through a lot but, he is doing good...he is still very sweet and very
vocal...and, yes indeed I sure do love him....Thanks...Millie
Tornado Hi! I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that Tornado is doing great here :) We have brought Willow in as well, and while there was a week or so of light hisses, short chases, and a lot of hiding, they are both really warming up to each other. She is starting to come out of her shell more; when she is settled, she will let us pet her, especially the cheeks and ears, and she has even taken to rolling onto her back and cuddling on our hands when we pet her. She is still nervous and skittish, but every day she is getting a little braver. Your tip on the social eating is really helping as well. I finally found out why Willow was eating his food so fast (because it wasn't him! ha ). Tonight I had them next to each other eating their wet food, with Tory occasionally trying to "share" Willow's meal. She is a real sweetheart; I am so glad I got to meet her, and all of you. Thanks so much! Shannon
Levi
She's doing great, so BIG so fast. Loves her new house and gets along well with Reese. We named her Levi because her favorite place to sleep is in my boyfriends jeans, it was either that or "dirty laundry" LOLDeb
Trevor
Hi Marie, Trevor is doing great! He adjusted to his new home
very quickly - didn't hide or act scared or anything. He is very curious
and friendly. He and our other cat, Madeleine, are slowly getting along
better. They rough play a lot, and while Maddie isn't always happy about
it, Trevor seems to be having a great time! They both sleep together on
the bed at night with no problems. We are trying to deal with a couple
behavioral issues - stealing people food, giving us a very hard time when we
trim his claws, etc - but for the most part, he's no naughtier than an average
kitten. We had his vet visit a couple
weeks ago, and all checked out. He is gaining weight at the appropriate
rate (Vet says he will probably be a big cat when full grown), healthy, stool
sample was clear, and he got his distemper II shot. I attached a shot of
the 2 kitties checking out some flowers - I will try to send over some better
ones soon. Thanks for checking in!Emily
P.S. We decided to keep his name as Trevor, b/c it was so cute!
Ryan
Hi Lisa - I finally got around to uploading pictures from my
camera and thought I'd send along an update on Ryan. He's WONDERFUL. As you can tell from the pics he's doing
fine. Dec 19, my husband's aunt passed
away (95yrs old). She'd adopted Lester
(orange cat) 2 years previously and the agreement was if anything happened to
her we'd take Lester. Well, he's 26 lbs
and came to our home snarling, growling, and hurling himself at the den door. We introduced him just like we did with Ryan
and thankfully EVERYONE gets along famously.
Ryan and Lester LOVE to play hide and seek and chase each other around.
Ryan must have a quick metabolism because he and Lester eat up a storm but Ryan
doesn't put on any weight (not so for Lester)
Matthew, who was abused, stays more to himself but does have moments
when he needs the other cats close (he's butt to butt with Lester on the bed). I say to Ryan he was the "problem
placement for the Kitty Connection" but that he was really just waiting
for us! He really is a LOVE. Can't thank you enough for all you do/did. Take care. Dolores
Cass
Hi Marie, I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to send you a quick update on Nigel. He is doing incredibly well and is such a joy to have. I changed his name to Cass, and he spends his days watching birds out the window, snuggling in an easy chair while wrapped up in a Red Sox fleece and keeping me company while I study for the bar exam. The attached picture is my absolute favorite - Cass is sitting directly on top of my bar prep books, with his paw strategically placed over my flashcards, so I really have no choice but to stop studying and play Cat Dancer with him :) Thank you again for everything you do - and all the work you put into Cass. He's brought so much joy and happiness into my life and I will always be grateful to you for everything. Very best, Mary
Henry
Hi Marie, my husband told me that you called to see how Henry is doing. It’s been a year today that we got to take him home. We decided that we’d use this date as his birthday. He’s such a great dog, we love him so much. He became a big part of this family fast. We had an invisible fence installed and that was well worth the cost. We take him for walks in the forest behind our home here in Franklin and he just loves it. He also enjoys going to the beach, riding in our jeep and boating too. Our veterinarian tells us he’s doing wonderful. We feed him measured meals and are keeping him at his proper weight of 17 pounds. I believe you made the right choice choosing us for Henry’s family. I’ve attached a few pictures for you. Thank you.Anne
PS Ever since we brought him home we’ve been saying, “What did we talk about before we got the dog?”
Eclaire
A few months ago my roommate and I adopted Eclaire, a very skittish and scared little kitty. After a weeks of hiding and cuddling with the fleece blanket we gave her under a bed, kitty started to come out of her shell...she is incredibly curious, fun, and sweet. She makes us laugh every day. Some snapshots of her progress are attached. Thank you for allowing us to have this joy in our lives!Emily
Aleaha Here is a picture of Aleaha. She is an amazing,
lovable, playful cat and and she loves when you rub her tummy. She is very loved and cared for!
Petey
Hi All, just to let
you know Petey is doing great, loves his buddy Pauly, our two females and our
dog . We got Petey to hang out with our youngest of 3 females and then
unexpectedly lost one of our other girls to a brain tumor. Not wanting to have
an odd number of kitties we came across Pauly who was a couple of months
younger than Petey. Worked out great even though Petey will always be
twice as big! He's a big boy. Carol
Little Girl
Hi Marie and Stacy, here are pictures of Szchezuan, whom I've renamed 'Little Girl.' She's my pretty, sweet Little Girl! She loves to purr and cuddle, and her favorite spots are on the couch or on the chenille blanket on the bed. Also, when I come home at night, she rushes to the door to meet me. It's a great way to come home! Thanks for making this adoption happen. Sincerely, Kim
Gwen
We adopted Gwen from Kitty Connection three years ago. She is definitely a cat that doesn't 'show well' for potential adoptive parents. She was not particularly friendly and her past abuse made her very distrusting of people. Sadly, Gwen still shows physical signs of her past abuse - her tail still has a large bump and is slightly crooked from where it was broken. It's taken time, but Gwen now seeks affection from us, purrs, allows us to pat her and scratch her behind her ears. There are still areas we cannot touch, but we're getting along well with Gwen, she sleeps with us at night and she's become a great part of our family. Tricia
Scooter and Pooh
Hi everyone at Kitty Connection, these
two beauties (formerly Creme and Brulee) are doing great and are a joy to have. It was NOT my intention to adopt 2 cats when
I went to the adoption day in Stoneham but being unable to decide which kitten
to take ...someone said "take both"....yikes, I have two 14 yr old
cats at home and I had all the fears that go with that. But I must say adopting
the TWO babies WAS THE ANSWER to getting through the adjustment period. The
babies had each other and the two elders just watched in disbelief as the
kittens tumbled their way through their first 2 months. It was hard work trying
to maintain the same schedule for the elders (one of which is a Siamese with OCD,
who'll sometimes get sick from changes) and sometimes I worried, but the end
result is just wonderful. Yesterday Siamese
and baby were sleeping together. It was worth the time and effort we put into
the adjustment, including cancelling a winter vacation. There's rarely any
hissing and spitting and they're all happy. My thank you is late but as you see
we had lots of work to do.Ginny
Pedi
Thank
you for allowing me to take home and love the most wonderful boy in the world!
"Pedi" (formerly Sligo), was named after our favorite Sox player,
Dustin Pedroia. He is a handful, but he is completely worth it! He has his own
play area and a fantastic dog walker who comes to play with him twice a day
while I am at work...just a bit spoiled. He has a circle of friends who adore
him and in return he loves and amuses us all day, every day. He licks my tears
when I cry, he's always happy to see me when I get home, and he is quite the
cuddler. He's my buddy and I want to thank you for introducing us! Michele and Pedi
Cali
Kitty Connection, here is a new picture Kiki (Now Cali) on
Christmas day. She is a very happy cat and loves her new home! Thank you for providing us with such a beautiful kitty!Dave
Appa
Hello, I just wanted to pass along a little update and some
pictures! Mushroom is doing well, he's
incredibly fast! All yesterday and the
night we got him he kept dashing out the bedroom door, which put him at meeting
our other cat face-to-face a lot sooner than I'd planned. While Momo showed
some resistance at first that kept me nervous, he very quickly softened and has
now fallen for the little guy. They chase each other about playing and they
even slept together on the bed for a short while. Momo is still a bit jealous
but I'm pretty sure at this point that they will be the best of buds. :D We are re-dubbing Mushroom to Appa,
which is a matching name to go with Momo (they are the names of two cute
critters from a show we enjoy). Though we think Mushroom is adorable as well
and will probably use it as one of his pet names. Thanks again for introducing
us, hope all is going well with you and we pray for a wonderful, warm home for
his momma for Christmas. :) Happy
Holidays!Liz
Samson
Hi, here are some pictures of Prime Rib, thought you might like to see how he is doing. We named him Samson. He is the best thing for my mom. She absolutely loves him and so do I. He is quite the character and makes us laugh a lot and he keeps my mom company until I get home, then he follows me around the rest of the night. He's gotten so big and is so loveable. He is doing very well and is very spoiled by us. Thank you, Lisa
Greta Dear Dawn, Tostito’s name is now Greta. She's doing great...gets along well with our dog, very cuddly, happy to be carried around (gently) by our daughters and basically always where the people are. (Right now sleeping in my lap as I work.) Best, Elizabeth
Lola
Dear Kitty Connection, my boyfriend and I adopted a cat (Pevin, who we named Lola) in the beginning of the year. We have gotten to spend eight precious months with her so far, and we couldn't be more smitten. I am attaching some pictures of Lola that I meant to send along a long time ago. Thank you so much for your good work. I hope that all families get to experience the sort of joy that a little critter can bring into a home. Sincerely, Emily and Philip
Penny
Penny has brightened my life. She is my best friend and we are both the happiest when we do things together. She is an awesome friend, loving, gentle, playful and amazingly funny. She has brought joy and laughter into my home and is hoping one day that Tommy and Humphrey the cats will love her as much as I do. Marie
Marley
We adopted Marley in June 2010. She was a 13 week old kitten with long hair and double paws. We had called Kitty Connection asking for a kitten with double paws and we were delighted when they called us back! We brought her home and by the end of the first day she had explored our house and found a cozy spot to curl up...on my 5 year old daughter's bed...much to her extreme joy!!! We named her Marley, and she now responds to her name, and lifts her head up to us when we talk to her. She is VERY chatty, and loves to be played with and held. She is a snuggle bug in the evening when the kids have gone to bed. She willl curl up with us the couch and purr and chat to us. She is such a good kitty. We adore her and we are so grateful to Kitty Connection for matching us up together! O'Mahony family
Antrim, Cornwall and Beckham
Hi Stacey, I just wanted to let you know all is
well here. The three babies are healthy and happy; Dot is alternating between
playing with them like she's a kitten and washing them like she's their
mother. Thank you again for all your
help and for the wonderful work that all of you at Kitty Connection do! Happy Thanksgiving! Jean & Julie
Jill Hi Karen, remember this gal? As you can see, she is doing awesome! Extremely obedient. Hope all is well with you. Vincent
Georgie Hi Karen, Georgie is adjusting just great. Thanks to you and Marie for getting him to me.Paul
Remy
Dear KC Staff, I just
wanted to send you a photo and update on Gorgonzola, known as
"Zola." She started life at Kitty Connection as
"Magpie" but seems quite content to be named after a food since she
is such a "chow hound!" She is into everything and it is a
part-time job keeping her away from nightly people-supper. She and her
housemate cat, Rigatoni, get along well and have a favorite game of
hide-and-seek in the bathtub. Zola is a loving, mega-purring kitty and is
a joy to have as a roommate. Thank you for taking such good care of her
until I could find her and adopt her.Patricia
York Marie, York is doing great and has been a blast to have around. It is amazing how curious he is about everything, and despite my trying to get him to play with toy mice and balls, he prefers a crumpled up piece of paper to bat around. Thanks again for your help with adopting him. Matt
Sir Winston
Hello! We
wanted to let you know how happy we are to have Sir Winston as part of our
family. He has quickly become comfortable in his new home and we were so happy
to find that he was litter trained and uses the scratch pad rather than our new
sofa! Sir Winston's personality is hilariously diverse. He is a snuggle-bug,
always keeping a gigantic paw on us when he sits near by... all this while
acting like a grumpy old man. No matter the mood, he welcomes attention and we
love giving it to him. Sir Winston is just now starting to become playful so we
are pretty excited to see how this part of his personality comes out. We are so grateful that when he was found,
someone realized he belonged in a home. Many thanks to the Kitty Connection for
all their work to find a home for him. We can't imagine our life without him! Aly & Curt
Emma Hi Kelly, well I finally got a chance to take pictures of Emma. She's doing great. She is really a sweetheart, and she's started to make friends with the other kitties. In a couple of the pictures she's hanging out with her brother Max. Take care, Deirdre
Oreo This is an updated picture of Oreo, the kitten my friend adopted a few weeks ago. This is her picture from her visit to the vet in her carrier. She is happy and doing well. Her Mom calls her a "Diva" and is very spoiled. I thought a nice "Happy Ending, New Beginning" update for the website. :)
Puc Hi Stacie, I just thought you would like to see a picture of my make-up consultant. He thinks the sink is his private throne when I am doing hair and make-up. He is very settled and very happy. He plays with Nittany all the time and has taken over the house.Autumn
Noir Noir has a new name, Lucy. She is doing great! I think she really likes her new home and she seems to be adjusting well...eating a healthy amount, playing with her new toys and snuggling on the couch with her new parents. She is a sweet girl! I have taken a lot of pictures and will send them once I upload them to my computer. Best, Stacey
Oliver and George Hi Stacey, I wanted to send you an update and some pictures of the kittens we adopted from you back in June, Merry and Billy Rica! I've been meaning to write for ages, so I'm sorry this is long overdue. I did give them new names -- Ollie (formerly Merry) and George (Billy Rica), although I'm sure they don't know their names since we're always calling them sweetie, angel, babe, etc!! Still, they don't seem to mind too much. :) Both cats have really settled in well. They spent a leisurely summer exploring the apartment-- they especially love bird- and people-watching while lounging in the window sills of our big insulated front porch. Now that it's getting colder, they've discovered the benefits of snuggling together on my bed, or on the couch with me or my roommate while we watch TV. As they've gotten into their routine and made our apartment their home, Ollie and George have gotten more and more affectionate with us. They're social and not skittish at all, and if we have visitors, both cats like to stick around and be part of what's going on. We have excellent play sessions, too -- they like to show off their high jumps and stamina in balancing on their hind legs while trying to get to their favorite toys! Our dining room is pretty much their play room. It's great that they have each other, and they wrestle and play around all the time. If Ollie's in one room and can't see his brother (well, I call them brothers, even though they aren't quite that :)), then he'll let out a little cry and George comes running! It was tough to narrow down, but I've attached a handful of my favorite pictures of them. Thanks again for all your help and information when we were choosing cats to adopt. I'm so happy to be able to give these two little guys, who we now love so much, a good home. Take care, Liz
Emily and Virgil Hi Stacey, we adopted two lovely kittens from you at the end of August. As you can see from the attached picture, they are happily bonded to each other and to us (they're curled up in my lap). The names you gave them were Lexus (grey/white girl, aka Emily) and Gemini (all-white boy, aka Virgil). They are both doing very well. They chase each other around the house like mad things, and wrestle with everything (including people) in their way. If you have any updates on any of their siblings, we'd love to hear them! Much thanks! Sami
Stella
Hi Marie, I just wanted to send you a quick update on the
beautiful muted calico kitten you helped me adopt about a month ago. I renamed
her Stella (from Tyra) because she has a little too much cat-titude and needed
a spunkier name. Now I know that I have always been an animal lover, but even I
couldn't imagine how much I would fall in love with this kitty. Stella follows
me wherever I go... into the bathroom, downstairs to pack lunch, in my closet
to pick out an outfit for work. She even likes to sit on the edge of the tub as
I shower. She loves to play with water and as a result I purchased a kitty
water fountain for her. I've noticed that she's been drinking more from the way
her litter box has gotten fuller. :) She's
very vocal and announces her presence when she enters the room. She loves to
snuggle and has the sweetest personality. Even when she does something she
knows she's not supposed to (I'm proud to say she's doing very well with her
behavior training), you can't stay mad at her for long. I usually scold her one
minute and scoop her up in my arms the next. She's too sweet to punish for
long! Thank you for helping me adopt Stella.
I am so in love with her! And good luck
finding homes for all of the other wonderful animals out there!Alicia
Henry
Hi Marie, I wanted to send you a picture of Henry to let you see how great he's doing. Actually both he and Hallie are doing wonderfully and I just love having them around. I’m trying to get some good pics of both of them together and I will send them when I do. I just wanted to thank you so much for bringing them into my life and I’m so happy I could give them a happy forever home as well. Love, Elizabeth
Note from Kitty Connection: Henry's adoption is especially poignant as he has feline leukemia. We are grateful to this family for giving him such a loving home.
Lillian Hi, we are the proud to have "Lillian" as a new family member ! She has fit into our family so well! She has a wonderful personality and we could not imagine life without her now. Our family has my husband and I along with five children in the age range of 17 - 8 years. We also have 2 guinea pigs. Here is a picture of our Success Story!
Batman Hi Karen, I sent you pictures of Batman. He is doing great and I think he's a happy pooch. I know I'm a happy owner and am thoroughly enjoying him. He's got a look that just melts you. Jocelyn and he are best of buddies. I told you it wouldn't be long before the 2 of them would be sleeping together on the same bed. He learned quickly the Dunkin Donuts run on the weekends. I'll keep you posted on any new adventures. Hope all is well. Kathy
