The Pet Network is a Medford TV 3 cable show hosted by Kitty Connection.  The show currently runs monthly, starting February 10, 2011.  Whenever possible, we will post episodes below for viewing.  You may need to install software to view.
 

The Pet Network - Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Tonight's episode of the "The Pet Network" on Medford's TV3 will now feature dog trainer, Joe Ferraro.  Liz Pease from the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society will not be on tonight. 

Joe has worked with dogs and studied canine behavior for more than 25 years. He owned his first dog when he was five years old. Whether your dog is experiencing separation anxiety, showing signs of aggression, or making too many of their own decisions, his program offers a careful combination of obedience training, behavior modification and compassion. 
 
Joe will be on tonight to teach us some fun dog tricks! Tune in at 7 pm!

The next Pet Network show will be on Wednesday, January 11, at 7:00 pm on Medford TV3.  Dr. Amy Schroff will talk about safety tips for your pet this winter.

Summer time first aid and how to put together a first aid kit - to include wound management, bee and insect stings, coming in contact with wild animals – skunks, coyotes – how to deal with them and how to avoid your pet coming in contact with them.
·         Summer time toxicities – cocoa mulch, toxic plants such as tomatoes, caladiums, etc.
·         Heat stroke – what is it, how to recognize it, how to treat it.

·         Travel pet care tips – what to take on the road, where can your pet stay, where should they not stay, is air travel safe in the summer?

Dr. Shroff's practice of veterinary medicine is limited to emergency and critical care. She is Chief of Staff and owner of  the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center of New England (VESCONE).

 

Dr. Shroff has always worked with animals and it has always been her calling to do so. Her extensive years as a veterinary technician both in the private sector and at the academic level in anesthesia and ophthalmology have helped to round out her career and be an advocate for excellent veterinary nursing.

 

Upon graduation, Dr. Shroff worked as a research fellow for the Harvard School of Medicine and Beth Israel while also in private practice. She twice became published as a vaccine researcher in Group B Streptococcus vaccine.

 

Dr. Shroff has since devoted all of her time to the practice of emergency and critical care as well as the entrepreneurial pursuit of practice ownership. Her professional interests include public speaking, practice development and management, transfusion medicine, as well as wound management and trauma.

Bio of Kim Hyder
Kim Hyder has been an animal rights activist for 6 years.  She has rescued and foster cared for many animals.  She is a member of Friends of Beverly Animals in Beverly MA.  She is executive producer and host of Friends of Beverly Animals cable tv show.  She was arrested last year for helping a dog she believed was being abused.  Consequently she was honored with an award from Andover law school for her act of heroism.  She has volunteered at the New Anti-Vivisection Society, Northeast Animal Shelter and Farm Sanctuary. Her passion and dedication to helping raise awareness about animals in labs,  circuses, factory farming, horse and dog racing, dog, bull and cock fighting is her lifelong purpose.
