Nickel

My name is Nickel, and I’m about five years old.  I was surrendered by a family who did not treat me well.  They brought me into their home when I was only seven months old and pretty much ignored me for the next four years.  They never even brought me to a vet!  Because of this, by the time they decided they just didn’t even want me around at all any more, I had a urinary-tract infection.  It has since been treated and resolved, and I’ve got a clean bill of health.

Helping sad cats is a way of life with Kitty Connection’s volunteers, but they say that I’m the saddest cat they’ve seen in a long time.   Because of the neglect I’ve experienced, I simultaneously crave affection and fear it.  What I need is to be adopted by a patient person with an enormous heart who will give me the TLC that has been missing from my life so far so I can learn to trust again.  Once that happens, I’ll return the love I receive a thousand times over.  I get along well with other cats, so, if you have a cat who wants a friend, I’m your guy.

All Kitty Connection cats have been

– spayed or neutered
– vaccinated against rabies and distemper
– tested for FIV and FeLV
– examined by a vet

My adopter will receive my medical records.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time.
