Copper Pot

My name is Copper Pot and I am a neutered, male, 8-9 month old Sheltie/Beagle mix and a perfect size at just 24 lbs. My family surrendered me at a local shelter after they got mad that I wasn’t trained – even though they bought me at a pet store when I was 8 weeks old and did nothing to train me. Not only that but they would let me run free through the neighborhood and hope that I would return. I know I wasn’t a priority then but I know that with Kitty Connection I will find a family to love, train and exercise me.

I am now in a foster home with 3 dogs, 1 cat, 3 kids under 6 and I am loving life! I am an energetic little guy and need to be exercised a couple times of day – either a game of ball, chase with my dog friends or a nice long walk. I am potty trained, crate trained (though I don’t love it), I know my name, sit and walk well on a leash. I do well with other dogs but like to play hard so I would do best with a younger dog (of any size) who would enjoy the playtime.  I love the cat and wish he would like to play – he seems to be just my size.  I would never hurt one – just bark to say hello and jump around.

I am in a home with kids but would do best with kids over 12. I was handled a little bit rough by young kids in my previous home and they make me nervous. I have learned quickly what I can chew on and I love things like kongs, rawhides and rope toys.  At the end of the day I love to snuggle up on the couch with my foster dad – that is when I look my cutest or so they say.

My adoption donation is $400 of which $150 will go to a trainer to continue my training and make me the best companion ever. I am up-to-date on vaccination, heartworm negative and neutered. I will be at the South Shore Plaza – Aveda Store on Saturday, March 28th from 4-5 if you would like to meet me!
