In memory of Benjie, March 2014

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that KC lost one of our great success stories, Benjie, as he had to be euthanized.  Benjie had ulcers on either side of his tongue and in his mouth.  It was awful and the pain he must have endured without showing it was immense.  What a trooper he was!  Benjie put on a very brave face for his human and hid his illness up until the end.  Benjie came to us from a horrible, abusive first two/three years of his life, but a superb person named Sheryl took him in and gave him a wonderful and loving home for these last two years – it hopefully erased some of his terror from his former owner(s).  Although he did not allow Sheryl to pick him up, he typically loved to be petted and to cuddle up against Sheryl wherever she went.  The two years with Benjie were far too brief, but we know he will not be forgotten by our volunteers and Sheryl due to the love he gave us all.

Everyone at Kitty Connection send their thoughts and condolences to Sheryl and thank her for giving Benjie a great two years.
